Yes you're absolutely right. For the first half of 2020 the 99% of the historical dramas are silly fluffy rom-com with 19-23 years old actors who act horrible. These dramas have zero plot , zero character development and only have dumb comedy and some kisses, so the 14yo fan girls can scream in excitement lol.
Where are the veteran actors , where are the dramas with decent PLOT , where are the good productions ?!
All I see lately are fluffy dramas that target teenage audience and bad actors whom playing horrible and overreact in every scene. An example is Zhao Lusi whom dominates the drama world lately and of course many type-casted actors like her who play in these rom-comedies lately. More likely we'll never see again good historicals like Nirvana in fire, Eternal love or Rise of Phoenixes for example . The industry decided to target teenage audience. I think we won't see serious good actors and good dramas any time soon xD

Thanks ! Yes I will. Also I love Xu kai from The Legends . I just hope it won't have a huge amount of comedy. Having some comedy is fine...just not too much. I'll definitely check it out

No matter how hard I try to find episodes with full length and subbed , I cannot. This drama is nowhere to be found lol. I've never seen before something like that lol. I understand it's a web drama but still ....wtf xD

No , I dropped it too after the 1rst episode lol. It's just that... I'm really out of good historical /romance dramas. It's so hard to find something with quality and not just with brainless silly plot. I'm trying to watch new things but half-bald era burns my eyes xD

Hahahaa I know. I can't watch dramas from this era (half bald era). There are many exceptional dramas like ruyi's royal love in the palace/Scarlet heart and many many others but I've never watched any of them because I hate the hair cuts. All men look extremely ugly and I can't focus in the plot. I can't empathise with them. Those dramas are not for me I guess.

It's been ages since a good wuxia/ romance/fantasy/ melodrama came out. And by "good" I mean the same level as all those you just referred (Tmopb, Love and destiny , ashes of love).
Personally I'll definitely give this a shot because I'm out of good dramas that aren't silly fluffy rom-comedies.
By the way.... how haven't you still watched Eternal love of dream? !

It's as good as Tmopb and at some parts even more dramatic and sad than that. Especially in the Aranya arc ( ep36+... )
I didn't spoil anything...just saying which part of the story was awesome ! I can't believe people can resist to Feng Jiu x Dong Hua that long and not watch it haha xD

I made the mistake to watch this drama until the end. The first 25 episodes were very nice when Qu Yuan was a magistrate and he was solving problems and saving people together with Mo Chou. After ep 25 it became severely SAD , DISPERSING and HORRIBLE until it was over. If you wanna watch this please do yourselves a favour and watch only until ep25. After that the plot is bad , silly , ridiculous and pointlessly sad. Full of fillers , dumb politics , dumb dialogues. It should be a very nice short drama like...30ep long. The 78ep is a joke

Your review is 100% accurate. I just finished the drama and the only part I enjoyed was the first 28 episodes. I regret watching it until the end . After around ep30 , the couple was continually separated. I really liked the first part were he was a magistrate in the village and they were solving problems together. This drama should have ended in 30 episodes with a happy ending. They should have never drag it to 78 episodes. The last 2/3 parts of the drama were depressing, pointlessly sad , the plot was non-existent. I just wish they had ended it in 30 episodes and not continue it and make it pure mess.

Actually I just checked out this site and it has only Raw episodes. Not even a single one subbed

Ah thanks I definitely will watch this one. Slow burn love stories are my favourite. Also I love Zhao Liying (from the amazing drama "Journey of Flower") and her real life husband William Feng (from the little weird drama "Ice fantasy") . Thanks for the recommendation

I don't read novels but I often hear from people that they completely change the scenario from the novels to the Drama addapattion. That's annoying, they should keep it unchanged. So in princess weiyoung the female lead was that different?! Wow in the drama she was strong as a woman but she never actually focused on revenge. In "song of glory" which is almost similar , the female lead is way more bold. A true assasin. But the truth is I disliked her a little.

Yeah exactly.....healthy relationships ! Finally a person who understands that this brainless type of female lead isn't a normal healthy person but just "Bad writting" that only teenage girls like. You referred Eternal love. It's very very good. A billion viewers have watched it worldwide and it has high score in critics.
Anyways , since you said "tsundere" I assume you watch anime ....perhaps?! xD

I was watching anime for like.....6 years and then I discovered the amazing world of Chinese/ Korean historical dramas and I fall in love with them completely because they have serious plots and tragic lovestories . The only anime I watch now is Re zero kara hajimeru seikasu by the way.
But either it's an anime or a Drama , I can't stand silly female leads (the tsundere type) who overreact to everything, are good only for being saved, act silly and are an insult for the actual women. That's why I hate the fluffy rom comedies. I prefer serious romance /historicals with actual plot. Not plot for 14 year old teenage girls. Chinese/Korean Rom-com should be better witten and not this stupid silliness

Li yi Tong has participated in amazing Historical dramas. She's very good at portraying every kind of emotion .
Yukee Chen in the resent "And the winner is love ". Li Qin whom can be both feminine and badass.
All those actresses you referred are amazing professionals and not goofy and over-promoted idols.

I hope so ! I believe she has potential. It's just that 90% of her dramas are rom-com. Basically I like when the dramas have some comedy elements but I can't stand too much of it.
Besides that , I consider her a good actress. I really wanna see her in a serious and dramatic role so I can judge her fairly. I watch all Dilraba's historical dramas, so I'll definitely watch "The long Ballad" and for Zhao lusi since she co-stars there. Glad to see her in a dissent role

Thanks for the recommendation . I've dropped it sadly. Actually I kind of dislike all Zhao Lusi's dramas. She is type-casted as the childish/ playful/ and silly female lead in all the fluffy rom-comedies. I'm not into those kind of dramas. I do respect the actress and her work. It's just that her dramas are not for me.... I guess.... xD
