The one other scene that has moved me like this is Kim soo Hyun in its okay not to be okay when he was crying on the stairs begging for his brother or about his brother can't remember... For me the tea isn't hot enough... It feels like a passing thought that will get lost before a person even finishes the thought... Thats how quick the scene happened. It went over people's heads and for this particular message it's not suppose to.
On the other hand it felt normalised because in their industry it's normal ( I was so angry at everyone's reaction or lack of action, but I have to remind myself this is their normal, I would have showed up at that hotel to get my actor) but I think we the viewers not reacting hard enough makes this more factual.

Till this day I can't watch To My Shore past episode 4 not because of the story but the realisation as I read the comment section that as individuals and nations when it comes to abuse of many variations we don't put as much importance/education or thought to it...
I love me some dark shows (I have watched jdramas that make me almost loose my appetite) but to accept such characters ending up together as a good ending is the same as the characters in the movie Obsession ending up together.... And trying to converse about the drama made people feel like they are being attacked for liking the show and in turn attack you or our favourite statement "it's fiction" (I won't comment on this or we will be writing an essay, but I will say one thing the refusal to acknowledge or discuss something because it's fiction and it makes you feel personally attacked is an interesting stance to take on consuming information of any kind)
All this is to say imagine if we gave as much thought to the male child and the normalisation of abuse as all the video essays about the "nuances" of Obsession... But sadly it is still brushed over easily... I have come to realise that unless the atrocity happens to the main characters it is brushed aside very quickly... I think this is also why the reaction to QT fascinates me and shows the writer was not prepared for the knee jerk reaction the viewers had...
Even in Payback the impact never seems to reach the fans in such shows because the main character alway manages to "escape" magically...
A scene that really stood out to me recently was in "don't be too emotional" when the ML character attempted raping the MC ( this guy's acting was so disturbing it had people complaining about how real it felt) and then for some reason the MC is hated some more...

1) I use the word pretense and I stand by it.... It's even about speaking out loud QT pretended it didn't exist and he was the false narrator of WS's love... At every chance he would remind himspef, WS, CY, QL and us about who WS loved he would sing it from the toppest mountains and the deepest seas but he was the only one, who shouted this lie. no one ever commented or disagreed with him but at the sane time only he would bring up this topic as a reminder not just to us but to WS. And if we didn't have eyes we would have taken his words for what they are...
2) I disagree he (QT) walked next to the love but not in the love, he could only accept an extension of the love by proxy of "he pays so much attention to me because of my brother" we all know that was a lie but that was how he could exist with that love. I am not saying he was unaware but what I do know is he was intelligent enough at some point to put 2 and 2 together to make 5 and then choose denail as the answer, because half of him was in a coma.
There is a difference between comforting someone who is truly breaking down in front of you in your car and holding back so much that your own pain intensifies the scene... I remember people being angry at WS for not comforting him but for me I wanted to cry for them. Imagine the person you love being in so much pain, being so close to you and yet so far away that you can't even touch them and all you can do is watch... I can't explain why WS couldn't hold QT in words but I understood fully what WS felt in that scene. Again next to each other but not together and this alone was enough.
Let me put it like this they walked next to each other but never together fully... WS walked next to QT but never with him because QT was walking with Bf, there is a reason why it was never truly we are doing things "together" but QT wants to do this, so I WS will walk next to him...
