However, if a doctor makes the wrong prescription and the pharmacist dispenses it without failing to notice the drug interactions, then the liability falls on them both. As I said, they are responsible for patient health just as much as the doctor. If they fail to recognize something wrong, they too can get their license taken away. A pharmacist can also prescribe medication; in fact, they know more about drugs a lot more than a regular physician. One spends four years on it, and the other spends a unit or two in their overall four years. My mother is a pharmacist, so I know a lot about their line of work, and I am pre-med.
