Because Saye is a coming of age LGBTQ novel, not BL. Saye is based on very realistic situations and you know because of the ban now they are turning an LGBTQ novel into a bromance so it's sad and the novel fans are not happy about it and so am I. It's such a pity. Taiwan should have done this project rather than China but oh well!
