School 2013 is my favourite highschool k-drama ever. It was the first leading role drama of both Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin, now they both made it to the top actors. It was such a nostalgia. It has the most organic and natural bromance chemistry between the two, since they are best friends in real life. I remember many people shipped them. Now, Sky and Nani will play in Thai remake. I could see Sky brings it in LJS's role. I wonder if gmmtv is actually testing waters with Sky and Nani to check their compatibility and if people love them together or not. We know gmmtv makes money mainly on their bls. Are they planning to put these two in bl ship?
GMMTV had planned for 3 JBL remakes around the same period. 1. Cherry Magic TH 2. My Love Mix-Up TH 3. Ossan's Love TH. They all have to experience the same thing, you know that "comparison". Whether the remakes are good or bad, the jp version fans and the manga fans dislike the idea of remakes by a different country at the first place. I'm sure they will be more forgiving if it's made by the same country. There are different cultural aspects, also different acting styles and visuals. Thai versions cannot follow everything anyway. So, for fans of MLMU, comparison is unavoidable and just bear with it.
First of all, sci-fi genre in k-dramas without romance is hard to sell. It reminds me of Grid, also from Disney+. The current rating is expected. I'm sure it will get better when the story settle after a few episodes.
