I rarely watch Japanese drama (only the Death Note drama and movies including Attack on Titan). Will try to look up Liar Game when I have time to watch.
time to rewatch Liar Game for actually exciting games. Greatly crafted drama on the psychological side however.…

This is a spoiler but yeah, I agree. I didn't like Gi Hoon. He was a terrible son, terrible father, terrible husband.…
Same feelings here. That’s why I only rated it a 6.5. He wallowed in self-loathing or survivor’s guilt for a year instead of at least doing justice to the ones who died (and he pretentiously wanted to ‘protect’) by helping their family member. If No. 001 didn’t look for him I think he wouldn’t snap out of it too. Useless and hypocritical main lead should have just killed himself and let his childhood friend win cos that dude seems to know what his objectives are from the onset.
Did anyone else have high expectations for this movie and then came out disappointed once you finished it? Cuz…
I finally got down to watching it and I think acting was good and it shows the difference between two different classes of society but not something I’d re-watch. Personally I think this type of movie is not for you analyse loopholes or try to make sense of the moral it’s trying to impart, who’s good or evil etc.. If you do, you’d realise that the rich family is unrealistically gullible to not do any background checks at all before employing these positions which makes them vulnerable to dangers. Meanwhile the poor family got way too greedy and rash instead of slowly biding their time to milk the rich out of their money, etc...
Don’t get me wrong, I love that this has gotten so popular but at the same time my head is about to explode…
I also prefer to watch any movie or drama with the original actor/actress voice (regardless of whether i understand them or not) instead of dubbed but good subs are a necessity. I even watch English movies/series with eng sub so that I don't miss out any important lines spoken.
Provided there is S2 to explain the whole point of it, then this show is really good imo in terms of suspense…
Stupid masks aside (which would've made watching, eating, drinking and talking uncomfortable), made me wonder if people do talk that way in real life, not among each other but seated away with others around. Lines were cringey.
Not the same genre, but I have to compare it to Sweet Home which I enjoyed much, much more. Sweet Home was an…
Hint, hint... main character who's such a hypocrite? I just couldn't like the way he's portrayed. First time he's in the game - understandable. Going back the second time knowing full well what the game is about and trying to be goody two shoes yet deep down is selfish like the most of us are. He should've just killed himself and let his childhood friend win.
I enjoyed it while it was happening but man that whole undercover cop plot ended up being useless. It didn't accomplish…
I think the cop going undercover on his own without informing his superior or anyone is such a dumb move. The things he does while looking for his brother is also stupid. Didn’t expect him to be able to live long and unrealistically he did.
They lifted it from Liar Game... It's Liar Game meets Battle Royale. BTW, both are known in Korea as Korea imported…
Have just started this drama so can’t comment much but I loved Liar’s Game when I watched it long time ago. I think I’ll rewatch that again after this.

Not all of the people who watched Squid Game only watch violent stuff. My main genres are romance & comedy. I…
Same here. Not watching because I like violent stuff. More like it’s an eye opener to note the great lengths people may go to out of desperation even though it’s a drama and may not be real.
