I'm glad I gave it a try.

I almost skipped this drama because it had a 7.9 rating at the time. I saw many 8+ rating drama and gave up on many. But this one is surprising up to my liking. For starters, I did read some review before I started the drama. The memory loss story line is fine by me, and I don't remember being irritated by any bg music, am I watching the same version? I do know MGTV shows tend to have sound issues when watched via youtube version. Something they controlled and only the correct sounds will be from the mgtv app/site streaming. I think it deserves a higher rating, therefore I am put in a good review. ML and FL roles and acting are great. None of those typical irritating / over-domineering / pathetic roles. FL is a strong headed lady, ML is reasonably relatable, not too macho or egoistic type. An overall pleasant drama that kept me watching till the end (although I did skipped some support role parts).

Chemistry

I avoid BL at all cost! (Hence, I have never watched 'the other famous BL dramas').
However I am a fan of ZhangZheHan since his YunXi days, and after RuYi Pavilion I was surprised to hear him took up a BL adaptation drama. I was very skeptical of his choice, almost gave it a pass, but decided to give it a chance because I know ZZH never fails to deliver in acting. Also, I had just finished GongJun's Begin Again and getting to know him better.
ZhangZheHan impressed me even more this time. I'm very surprised with his flexibility and diversity in transformation, from his previous masculine superior characters to this graceful, elegant, beautiful yet strong AXu character. I WAS SOLD!
Wow, their chemistry is no joke. The casting of these 2 was also pure luck. Due to the pandemic, productions were delayed, and 1st choice lead actors were switched for unavoidable reasons, giving us the current powerful WenZhou couple.
How they project the relationship between 2 men without crossing China's censorship line still baffles me. There were a lot of focus on hands skin-ship, adoring/mesmerizing gaze, flirtatious lines in forms of poetry, hair-play, and HUGS! (bolder questionable hug towards the end ;) ) They portrayed it oh so very sweetly, I just can't resists but fall for this couple.
As for the story, I have not read the novel, so I can't compare. But having watched a lot of HK wuxia dramas/films, I can say that this WordOfHonor lives up to the wuxia theme.
I love the fight choreography, especially initial zzh's fight scenes (I may be bias here). However towards the end, his fight scenes are a lot less, which is quite sad for me because he gives the best works in fighting actions. I am also not a fan of many slow-mo camera works during these fight scenes, a tad too much. But at the time this review was written, Youku is still working on re-editing many scenes as to fulfill requests from fans. This is very surprising and satisfactory, never heard being done before, having production to re-edit to satisfy viewers feedback even after the drama has finished airing for VIPs subscribers. Definitely will re-watch again and again and again......

Best time travel drama

I started this drama out of recommendation. I don't know any actor/actress from this drama. All I know is this is a time travel drama, and it's very short, just 13 episodes. So worth a shot to watch it. Boy was I so impressed! In my opinion, this is the most well scripted time travel drama I have ever seen. The acting is fantastic, each actors having to act different versions of themselves, especially the male lead. For a Taiwan drama, this can be considered a very low budget drama as compared to those China or Korean dramas. But it's very well scripted, the scenes are well planned, the acting great. This is my 2nd drama review, and I hardly write any even after years of watching dramas. I hope Taiwan will continue coming up with more original gem like this drama. Thumbs up.

Heartwarming, simple, charming.

My very first drama review, which I am more than happy to write for this lovely drama.
A drama that made me cry because they are so good at making even simple scenes so touching and heartwarming.
The thing I like about this drama is how it realistically paint each characters with their strength and flaws as well. Nothing perfect, not even the leads.
And on top of that, the drama doesn't dwelve on cliche love triangles. Thank goodness.
It really does give alot of focus on family relationship, which is quite true, family matters most.
With a little sprinkle of friendship and chasing ambitions.
Halfway through the drama, I read alot of negative reviews from weibo on the male lead and also the drama focusing more on the side stories of friendship. But isn't this life? The truth is that mental health is really a big issue in youth nowdays and yet people are still labeling them as "attention seeking" shows the true extent on how society are still unwilling to accept this as an illness.
To me, it's a simple and not perfect drama, but this is what makes it even more charming and relatable for me.
I have seen many family and friendship cdrama, but nothing hits the right spots like this drama.
This drama will leave a significant impact on me for a long long time.

Wonderful chemistry CP

To be honest, I watch for this couple only and only because of this couple I watched it till the end.
I'm pretty sure the leads also feel the same with the weak storyline as I have heard them complaining about the plots a few times from some behind the scenes clips. I'm guessing they are obliged to finish what they started in the Legend of Yunxi and to give this couple a beautiful end. The production is better than Yunxi, gorgeous scenery and costumes.
I absolutely adore this couple, I can't explain why, their chemistry is strong, very pleasing and comfortable. They don't need steamy kisses to seal the deal.
I'm also loving the special modern episode which gives of a vibe like The Eternal Love 2 or even Goblin. Of course most of it makes no sense since it's only a short special for fan service. I'm not gonna complain since the ending bed scene was super sweet.
I definitely hope they will collaborate again with better storyline.
