Personally, I think this line vaguely implies that one may say they like something (pineapples and bananas) but in the end when making a choice, they might go with something else entirely (rambutans). From my understanding CH3 actors can fall into three types: - Actors who are exclusively managed by CH3 (managed entirely by CH3, faces of the channel) - Actors who are signed to CH3 to play roles in their lakorns (the implicit/explicit understanding is that they are not to appear as a lead actor in a competing channel, can only lead in platform-series like Netflix, TrueVisions Now or Viu, or WeTV) and they'll be managed by their own managers (either professional mangement company like TB (Nychaa, Gulf) or their personal managers (P'Ae for Nadech, P'Kornz for Alek). This group is also often signed to production houses and so the production house also manage them and when making a lakorn for CH3 they could prioritize their own actors; for ex: Toey Pongsakorn was signed under/managed by Broadcast Thailand during his time at CH3 so a lot of his lakorns were produced by CH3) - Actors who have non-exclusive contracts with CH3 to play supporting roles for them, there is a more laxed restriction for them on what non CH3 lakorn/series they star in (this group is similar to the above, often managed by a company that isn't CH3 or a production house)
Of course 10 years ago, whether actors could partake in outside productions or not was never really an important question for CH3 actors because CH3 were producing 30-40 lakorns per year and starring in a competing channel's lakorn is simply unfathomable

Mandate is very much an unconventional 'BL' series and I'm so glad you gave this show a chance. There's actually a 17 year age gap between the two lead actors (Ben (Wi) is born in 2001 and Boy (Nong) is born 1984) so I think that's a huge compliment to the makeup department 😅
