I feel like they are making this a big deal, like making a mountain out of a molehill. If you want something,…
It's bad because it seems like he starts targetting the people around small Jane until small Jane becomes isolated and desperate and that he has no one to turn to but big Jane, also he seems to have zero moral compass.
I think the promo starts end of june and gelboy05 announcement on july 3???? i think at earliest show might start airing mid july or end of july, depending on how much pre-show promo they're doing
I wonder if this might be a big step for Thai PBS moving forward which is revenue from licensing to regional platforms like VIU which can in turn help them with better budget for their dramas
It is not the point of the stoy but I can't believe Grandpa had a homoerotic friendship in his youth that inspired his BL novel. I would have liked to know what happened (these goodbyes were making me tear up the entire time watching).
In a conversation I had with a friend about "forgiveness", especially for bad/reformed homophobic parents/characters, within Thai series, they reminded me that it is "the usual Buddhist-influenced Thai approach to these stories - however justified they may be in their grudge, only by letting go of it can one finally be at peace. The important thing about forgiveness is not that the wrongdoer must earn it, but that the wronged be compassionate enough to forgive it."
While audience may view a story a certain way, believing whether it's just/unjust that a character is forgiven ot not, it's probably helpful to keep in mind the cultural context of the story which largely influenced the ways of thinking of these characters 💝
Claudine Atitaya Craig (dated one of the most famous Thai lakorn actresses of all time - Ploy Chermann) and Praew Narupornkamol (currently lowkey dating a non-celeb female)
The final ep conveys the core message relating to arts and culture well: traditional art needs to be continued to pass on for it to thrive. the 2nd and 3rd acts of this series suffered a bit from them delving a bit into politics and didnt make as much commentaries on the changes to forms of traditional dance arts as i would have liked it too.
nonetheless, the bangkok red opera was still a really great series to watch about thai cultures, politics, history
I can't believe the writers reduced Soi's character just to create this conflict between them. Soi is a fighter…
I don't agree that Soi would do that either but maybe she's tired as a 40 year old actress at that point? Mabelz looks way too young so it really took me out until I did the math to remind myself what age the female leads are at, at that point.
Nannam and Lukwad did not get enough comeuppance in my personal opinion. They did not live enough in regret and guilt and probably because the show showed them quite extensively post accident to constantly deny their responsibility, try and cover up mistakes without owing up to the fact that their debt (and to a certain extent Nam's drug addiction) is the major cause to this entire accident. Perhaps if it were portrayed by better actors, maybe I would have empathised a bit more.
But then again Lukwad's drunk driving causing her to kill people in a car crash, Nam's bullying that killed a classmate and drug addiction that contributed to his debt problem,,,, those are things that they could have avoided but they're rich people so how would they know. There's a line in the final episode where Lukwad even say "I killed 8 people and I still escaped/got away with it. You'll be fine" I was like =))))))))))))) Probably because the actress is so bad, I already never felt she was ever feeling guilty about deaths caused by her negligence. I have to admit I was sitting through EP 13 feeling very annoyed and frustrated with how much screentime they're giving to Nannam and Lukwad as if we're supposed to sympathize for these spoiled brats who never truly atoned for their mistakes, keep living their life lavishly, never changing after the first mistakes they made 🥶
I think it's not even enough. The breaking point seems to be that Mala wrote the letter the unveiling Soi's lesbianism,…
You should watch EP 16 first,,, Mala is in fact malicious by nature, she has such a high ego that she thinks Soi doesnt deserve to turn over a new leaf post-recovery
This was one time I was hoping my prediction wasn't true........why do you have to kill the prince? :( He deserved…
I think it's not even enough. The breaking point seems to be that Mala wrote the letter the unveiling Soi's lesbianism, theft, past opium addiction, false allegations of her being a prostitute to the Japanese soldiers during her time working at Nippon Club, which intentionally harms her career and her path towards turning over a new leaf. All the while, Mala hasn't apologised at all for destroying Soi's life after she's recovered as an addict with that letter, pouring all her misplaced anger and frustration on Soi. Mala seems to view Soi as the cause of her not getting the perfect picture perfect family life she's always wanted so she's developed this resentment over Soi (this belief that Soi doesn't deserve to have a good life because Mala didn't get the perfect life of her dream). They have only alloted 3 eps of Mala's villain redemption arc but I think it's way too little. Maybe the last three eps will ask for empathy for her character's malicious acts (even if she's faced some heavy pains) but she will need to do some more heavy groveling bbefore she dies of cancer
Directed by Chinese director Stacy Baek (stacybaek on IG)
Will definitely come out in 2026, later in the year
