Good: Hua Yong!!! Huang Xing!!! plus a fresh genre in BL dramaland.
Bad: Acting is a hit or miss. The directing feels ambitious but doesn’t translate well on screen. Some scenes are so illogical they made me laugh, like the freshly baked cake not being in a pan, SWL not recognizing GT during that scene even though the light was bright enough to blind someone, and the ridiculously staged library earthquake., they claim it’s a high-budget production, but the setup doesn’t look believable at all.
Rewatch Value: Might revisit once in a while. I can’t fully explain the appeal - maybe it’s the charm despite its flaws - but the acting and directing are just so-so. They tried, and somehow, a fandom was born. If you enjoyed it, good for you! 🙌
I know it’s part of the script, but I can’t help getting irrationally mad every time the ML acts like a man-child just to delay the divorce 😤 Like sir, just be honest for once! Say what you feel instead of sending her mixed signals... The FL has been through enough emotional damage - she needs words of affirmation, not confusion. I want him to grovel, but even his “groveling” still screams ego and narcissism 😭 Anyway, ep 25 finally gave us some of ML's character growth.
LOTFG fans are down voting this coz they cant accept SY is better as a general than ZY
now im curious, im not into hating one drama just to lift another... im hesitant to watch this because I feel like SY looks so fragile and her voice is sweet not believable to be a general but I love to be proven wrong...
I hope there's no romance between the leads. I want them to be best of buds, balancing each other while being a litigation god. I hope YSH finds a good woman and has his own child at the end of the show.
The actors and director are so good at giving us those subtle gestures and little precious movements that provide more depth in their characters, their chemistry is so natural you can feel it while watching. The way XS push CC, when WW softly dab CC shoulder and when CC always knock WW head. Ugh, I'm going to miss this show. 🥹
I assume they’re in the city - so why the hell do they need to take a secluded mountain road with no signal just to reach the police station?! it doesn't make sense. Mr. Yin deserves better.
im somehow sad that they cut some novel supporting characters but i understand that there will be some changes... im enjoying this so far. love the flash back at the start of each epsiodes and just wishing there's one at the end too.. but why is it 35mins only istead of usual 40mins or more 😭
Her body was weak to draw the bow string to it's fullest so thats why she had to train herself to strengthen herself…
It’s likely a month or more after the battle where his father died. In the novel, the ML and FL were classmates in their teens. The ML was already skilled in martial arts due to his general background, while the FL was just starting out and mostly self-taught. Some flashback scenes show early encounters between them, and the ML was actually the first to give her proper training.
The FL improved through army experience, and though her skills stayed sharp, her strength and stamina declined after the accident. They’re probably the same age or close, but the FL looks younger - maybe because she’s short and female. Even now, despite both being generals, the ML remains more skilled due to his early start.

this is some insane first epiaode. im hooked.
my heart skips a beat, the subtle gesture - that umbrella scene and taxi scene. swooon!
I hope YSH finds a good woman and has his own child at the end of the show.
