why do i still put a 6.5?

CRITICISM: the story and pacing was hilarious. same things happen repeatedly and barely has connection to the main story. and all those mystery that SID had to solve was ridiculously simple. each time some new support character would show up and eventually disapper. can you believe a brother hating his own brother/ girl ignoring her best friend for thousands of years just because of an unproven misunderstanding?
the villain with purple blue hair, i couldn't even take him seriously. not sure if the director was confused or what. the CGI sucks. clearly shows the cheap production.

SUPPORT: tell me how's this possible to scream I LOVE YOU TO DEATH without uttering a word?
i feel like Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan DID give us and DID NOT give us the thing we need at the same time.
they make me feel a strong mutual bond, an extreme expression of love through their eyes. (they literally satisfied us, at the same time the viewers and the China censorship!!!)
idk why people call it a BL drama . its clearly a love story. who shall keep your lollipop pack you left 10000 years ago in his locket? who shall wait for someone to reincarnate for 10000 years? who shall look at someone with intense unverbal words in his eyes? a friend? a brother? or a Lover?

(I've only talked about SW and ZYL pardon me. im following my heart instead of brain)

ACTING: i cant babble enough about HOW THE HELL OF A GOOD ACTOR ZHU YI LONG (shen Wei) is! how could he blob up thousands of words inside my head with some limited expression?
ZYL did nice too. an extrovert cutie. i bet SW wanted to kiss him everytime ZYL is smiling and being himself.
im not satisfied with the support characters. there were too much "acting" in their "acting" .

OST: love that bro

FANGIRL WORDS: i seriously cannot move on from it. i have a hollowed feeling inside my chest. a diffrent emptiness which is beyond control. i dont know what should i say but i wholeheartedly fell in love with Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan.

rating: the 6.5 whole, deserves our two main leads. its for them onlyyyyy.

ALMOST DROPPED BUT ENJOYED LATER

STORY: the story is so typical. in fact i was about to drop it at after hardly reaching to 8/9th episode. but i promise it keeps getting better. so if youre thinking to drop it before 15th, dont. hang on ;) . the cast is good but i never found Rong La or Wo You moving the story as main leads must do. they just wasted some episodes to drag til 58!? the story, incidents, ending are greatly and ONLY moved by Fu Chou himself. his quest for revenge, his feelings, insanity and dedication for both love and avange his mother's death– everything makes a really nice combination! this gray character was the only reason i haggard myself til 58.

ACTING: as to speak about main leads, i never found anything special about Sophie Zhang (Rong La) and Aarif Rahman's (Wu You) acting. its just how it is. on the other hand, the protagonist main lead Jing Chao (Fu Chou) ACTS BREATHTAKINGLY GOOD! i have barely seen someone acting to this level. like, if he is masking a gentleness above drastic anger, there would be a liiitle, slight change on his face, or eyes or just jaw. not like smiling infront of everyone, turnin around and grimacing. he changes the whole vibe into uttermost perfection. and also, the love exchange between RL and WY never attracted me, i mostly skipped those so called "romace" scenes where i had repeatedly play RL and FC's so called "intimate" parts (its fine if you dont agree to this point tho. ive second lead syndrome). talking about the character Jing Chao played in Princess Silver, i can only say, whom else to fall for if not him? as for other support characters, i like Ling Yue, She's just really sweet. The late Crown Prince, Prince Cheng and his ex, his present girlfriend, all of them annoyed me to death with their mawkishness. music: music in this drama is really good smh. loved how it blended with the situation with perfect lyrics and sound. overall, you already know why its rated 5, dont you? thanks to FC for that. this drama deserves less more stars if not for FC. you may enjoy if youre new into C-dramas and easily moved by simple plots so i dont really wanna ruin your vibe.

Thanks For going through this .

Mixture of both Beauty and Disappointment!

STORY & PLOT: started off nicely. felt the urge to continue. I was damn confused for who the main Male lead (aka whos gonna win the girl) is as i never read comments cause they are full of spoilers and I did not check any reviews intentionally,it kept me guessing for a long time (I was utterly enjoying the dilemma anyway) . it was going really good and i often got excited for the later and later episodes.
something that really disappointed me is, they tried to romanticize the dominance of Yuwen Yong over Yuan Quingsuo at first few eps. ABUSE AND DOMINANCE IS NEVER ROMANTIC. Yuwen Yong is smart, Yuan Qingsuo was dumb after amnesia but kept getting better.

till ep 27 the dilemma lasted for me and i could finally guess Guo Changgomg is gonna get YQS. (good lord i was so wrong) and the episodes became a little draggy and full of unnecessary plots. the same story of everyone chasing behind soul pearl was repeated in a cycle. the show somehow lost the track and quality in the middle. unexpectedly they maintained the balance between the leads till the end which i admire so much!
the opponents were extremely powerful and it was always hard for the main leads to cope up with them. as for the drama mainly focuses on YY-YQS-GC love triangle, i can pardon that. Yuwen Hu committed heinous crimes. and schemed perfectly. and naturally i had expected YY and YQS to come up with something brilliant so viewers could be satisfied. but i think the net was fabricated too neatly that the directors became confused as to how to take Yuwen Hu down so at ep 36 they introduced Empress Dowager out of nowhere and somehow managed to kill YH so fast (a Martial Arts god was literally killed by a YY with no Martial Arts. i mean what???) and kept YY harmless. and it was unsatisfactory that YH didnt get the proper punishment and sufferings he deserved.

another disgusting fact is YQS doesn't know wtf she wants. this time she's crying and vowing to stay beside YY the next second the maid, dancers, even YY himself needs to beg/explain her HOW THE HECK YY LOVES HER. HOW THE HECK SHE MEANS THE WORLD TO HIM. but our YQS still remains uncertain??? at this point i haggard myself to continue.
there was no character development for gao changgong .he remained stubborn and almost like a puppet of his personal feelings till the end. i seriously dislike that.

ENDING: there's no way to denay the ending is extremely nice and touched my heart. compared to the whole drama the ending was 100 times better and probably the only reason for me to rate it higher.

CAST: i have no say in this cause each and every actor is hella sexy (specially Yuwen Yong just look at his height!)

ACTING & COSTUME: its easy to convince me with acting. i can appreciate a extraordinary acting but cant point out a weak one. so i can only tell no one did extraordinarily good.
personally saying Gao Changgong was my fav even tho i shipped YY and YQS
the costume was real bad. like what on earth did the royal officials wear?? thats a total turn off !! the maids too wore bad dresses i wasnt convinced. and i wish the poor ZuGe WuXue and WuChen could get a couple more dresses so i hadn't see him wear the same green/white gown everytime.

OST/MUSIC: it totally depends. this was average for me. and could vary person to person.

REWATCH: you better not unless youre so in love with the drama.

THANKS FOR READING!

you can really see whats coming, right?

only watched 2 eps and couldn't continue anymore. the ending is quite obvious! the Chinese drama signature tragic ending. the weird camera angles and color correction was AT ITS WORST! this moment they'll show a scene of normal lighting in the next second the color tint and exposure changes into a drastic level.
voice dubbing wasnt matched with actors pronouncing which bothered me like hell !

the cast was same and i dont have complains against that. but not everyone was an "actor" . thank god zhao liying was at season 1 and it wasnt that bad. but the s2 seriously disappointed me and wasnt worth the wait.
