ATOTS is such an underrated gem. I wish more people talked about it. I also wish it got a second season.
You’re right. I don’t see many people talking about this series, but me and my friends really loved it. ATOTS delivered such raw emotions, and I can still feel the warmth it gave me 🫂 -
Kinda funny how some fandoms are mad that Duang With You is getting high ratings with simple storyline while some “deep” ones are sitting at 7 😭 Like… hello? This is a uni student drama. Do characters need to die, or have dramatic, angry parents for it to count as “good”? Lol.
A good series isn’t just about plot. It’s about balance, plot, acting, chemistry, everything working together. What’s the point of a strong storyline if the acting or chemistry falls flat? I’ve seen so many characters that are supposed to be cute but end up feeling cringe and unbearable to watch. But TeeTee as Duang? No one else could’ve pulled it off like that. He made the character feel natural, believable, and genuinely cute without forcing it.
As someone who’s watched like 80% of Thai BLs since 2016, I can confidently say it deserves the recognition. TeeTeePor really carried their roles. The story isn’t heavy, and it doesn’t need to be. Some lives are intense, some are simple, and stories can reflect that too. If actors can carry a series all the way without relying on intense plot, that’s actually impressive. At the end of the day, it’s a soft love story between a popular art student who falls for a popular music student and tries to win his heart, and it’s just perfectly done. I love it. 10/10.

I didn’t like Choi Mina Sue at first because she felt like an attention seeker. But after rewatching, I weirdly find her cute 🤣 She’s very childish and can’t hide her emotions or facial expressions. But she doesn’t seem to mean any harm, she just wants attention like kids throwing small tantrums.
And I’ve been thinking Sung Min looked familiar since EP.1, and now I know why. Bro looks like my babe Matthew lol.
It started off really good but went downhill from EP.7. So many unnecessary scenes, yet the important parts were missing. The last episode was a total disaster. This could’ve been better than Revenged Love, but didn’t stand a chance because the director and editor clearly didn’t know their job. I laughed so hard at the library scene where the block was on their shoulder and Hua Yong felt the weight. It looked way too light, like styrofoam. And the final scene where HY shoots Wen Lang with the syringe, I can’t with his acting right before he collapses xD
First-ever actual ABO series with such a strong plot, but the production team completely ruined it. But I’d still recommend this if anyone asked, because you can imagine the lacking scenes by yourself if you’ve read the novel 😭.
I want to see them in a new series with a better directing team and acting coach in the future. Pei An is already perfect, and the rest have so much potential -
I rarely get second lead syndrome, but this time I do. The love Situ Xian Jun has for Ming Xian is just 😭. I love how he instantly switches from being the weak to strong whenever she’s in danger. And her pet 27 is just too adorable. I really hope he gets to live happily with her till the end -
We already have Revenged Love and Abo desire from china. So why the fuck big producers and A-list actors so scare…
It’s very different when it comes to Eternal Faith and Immortality. The actors in RL and ABO are relatively unknown, so they can afford to take risks. If the series becomes popular, it’s a huge opportunity for them; if not, they don’t lose much since they don’t have strong reputations to protect.
But for big names like Zhang Linghe, Zhao Xiaowen, Chen Feiyu, and Luo Yunxi, it’s not that simple. They’re already well-known, so they can’t afford to risk their careers with something that might get banned or cause trouble. So caution becomes necessary, not hesitation.
And I don’t think they’re queerbaiting either. If you’re not a C-drama fan, you probably wouldn’t know this, but most C-dramas, unlike K-dramas, are based on existing novels, whether they’re straight or gay stories. The Chinese industry already has countless popular novel adaptations, so it doesn’t need to rely on BL stories to make a series successful.
It’s actually very risky for major studios to adapt BL novels under China’s current restrictions, so big productions won’t even bother unless the storyline is truly strong and worth the risk. There are countless well-written straight novels waiting to be adapted, so if they choose a BL story, it’s usually because they genuinely believe in its quality.
