nice story, main lead pure rise to power.

The old minister has been with the government for a long time. Holding deeply conservative views, he believes that sudden change causes suffering instead of stability. Instead, he favors peaceful coexistence and gradual change. Though he values friendship and light punishments, his actions make him appear like a villain from the very beginning of the show.

Tomorrow we’ll know who the red mask guy is, lol. If Yin Qing can cure Yan Fu Zhi from the red pill, then we’ll know for sure that he’s the red mask, the red mask only wants destruction and revenge to gain power. Another thing: if Yin Qing isn't the real red mask guy, then it comes down to Di Nian (the Shenwei Guards' captain) because he often wears red clothes, or Eunuch You (the chief eunuch) because he lost everything and wants revenge, lol. Time will tell!

Previously, I thought Huo An (the Left Chancellor's guard) was the Tiger Gangster's big brother. But after watching today's episode and looking closely at his mouth shape, I’m about 90% sure it’s actually Gu Qin (the Right Chancellor). He seemed like a good guy, but it turns out he's evil, lol. I might be wrong, but that’s quite the plot twist!

It seems weird, Chinese ratings are usually the lowest, but this drama’s rating is fine. Somehow its MyDramaList rating is only 7.8 lol. Maybe economic stress is making people so bitter that hate is taking over logic and kindness.

most of chinese don't wants to watch the landlord era because it sucks and reminds people of how honesty and loyalty were completely gone, replaced by arrogance and cruelty. That is why Chinese viewers didn't want to watch it. Since locals won't watch, the ratings are low. Anyone who dares to jump into this era will face the consequences, but hey, directors love to try and fail hard.

don't be blind by ego, chinese i mean china people rate only 5.9 of course better than Rebirth 3.6.

Most people don't like the Warring States era, where generals become kings or lords. Most Chinese viewers dislike these stories, even Red Army drama people don't want to watch them. That's why ancient period dramas and modern-day shows get better ratings. Even though this drama gathered top-tier actors and actresses, jumping into an era people avoid led to its downfall. Kudos to them for being brave enough to produce it, though! lol

I mean the character he plays, not the actual person. When people express dislike, they are referring to the character, not the actor, which you seem to be confusing. Everyone has different tastes; some people love it and others hate it. It's just human nature that when people dislike something, they look for mistakes to complain about lol.

Nah, it was the Jasmine fans who down-rated it first, lol. I wonder why they act like that, maybe it's just their ego. Even on Chinese websites, Bai Lu fans are review-bombing the drama, lol. It's ridiculous. Anyway, that's just how the internet works...

This drama stood up to censorship and bullying, and it's still great despite the heavy backlash from alien fans. It’s still standing strong, and a 7.9 rating is not bad at all, lol! Having the courage to make it matters more than cowardice and suppression. It's a really nice drama, super addictive and fun to watch!

no season 2 lol. villain died too fast :D
