I am glad they filmed that epilogue, because episode 40 was incredibly sad. Whoever said that the ending resembles The Untamed was right - they clearly didn't want to completely contradict the novel, but still wanted to give the audience hope, hence open ending. I choose to believe that three friends and one dog roam together through jianghu breaking hearts and upholding justice.
From everything I have gathered from (not spoiler tagged comments), I will be satisfied with the ending, it's not outright tragedy, but what I expected and what LLH wanted. But, also, the first fix-it fanfic was delivered to me this morning and that makes me happy too. :D
I'm thinking of spoiling the ending on myself tomorrow first then deciding to watch the rest of the episodes now…
No, I did that for some dramas and quit after learning that ending is bad. But, I will watch this one regardless even if it breaks my heart, I really love it.
My paranoia is saying they are fast-tracking the show because of the bad ending to get the money before people get pissed. I'd like them to prove me wrong.
I hope Chinese fans give enough good feedback to get us all happy ending. I know I said I would accept any ending, but at this point I like them all so much - I just want them to be all right. :(
I cackled like a hyena. What a troll. 🤣🤣🤣
Enjoy!

For this I wish I could upvote you 10 times. I hope LLH has a better fate in spite of the novel.
