PROS:
+ Outstanding use of lights/shadows and darkness in the cinematography - Impressive camera shots, paired with a good, ambient score give the film a mature and classy feel
+ Interesting story with a protagonist that conveys empathy for the involved situations
+ The setting for most of the film is very well done, giving it a haunted and desolate feeling of helplessness
CONS:
- A couple of cliché character archetypes are present, but they work fine nonetheless
- At one point, the plot beings to add layers, but it felt as if it were missing some details
This movie reminded me a lot of another called Blind. There weren't as many surprises, but the movie was well done and is a strong thriller that succeeds in being unsettling. I definitely would recommend it!

Pros:
- There are some unforgettable and incredible action sequences and destruction, especially near the end
- Jackie Chan is cool (as always)
- Some of the humor is well-placed and creates a light mood to contrast the heavier elements in the plot
- The fight scenes and stunts are very satisfying
Cons:
- The overall pacing feels inconstant; some scenes even feel skippable
- It is strange that the comedic efforts aren't more prevalent, since they are actually funny (only some of the movie utilizes this)
- Some of the police investigation and legal/court logic is laughable and unrealistic
- A couple of times, it seems like Jackie's character is too "loose-cannon," which gives an impression that he's not a 100% "good guy"
Final thoughts:
Watch this if you like exciting action and physical stunts! There are some great scenes sprinkled throughout the film amidst the dry dialogue, but the real treat is the mall scene are the end.

+ The story is a roller coaster of different emotions and is also a mixed bag of cinematic elements that make it unpredictable, complex, and mysterious
+ The interest in the mystery builds throughout the duration of the film and is revealed in an indirect manner, which requires some thinking to piece together
+ Some of the moments were emotionally heavy to ponder and become increasingly upsetting the more you think about them
+ There are some impressive camera shots that layer backgrounds and pan to create a nightmare feel, that appears unnatural and creepy
CONS:
- The music was almost non existent, which worked well for some scenes (making them feel empty and lonely), but some others felt a little dry and boring
- Scenes that were shown to establish the plot weren't explained well at first, leading to some confusion until later revelations in the mystery
- Some symbolic elements of the plot don't really make much sense
This movie surprised me even as I was viewing it, but even more so after it ended. I kept thinking about the meaning behind the ending and decided it is truly great!

- While the majority of the movie isn't very scary, there are certainly quite a few disturbing scenes that are really shocking and tough to see
- It seems that the "horror" elements of the plot are purposeful and have interest in developing the plot
Cons:
- The mystery wasn't very interesting and the execution was very lacking compared to the original
- It was hard to keep attention to most of the movie, due to lack of interest in the story of character
- There was also not really much to make the movie feel unique in regards to presentation (sound direction/cinematography)
Final thoughts:
The original The Eye is far better and worth every second of watching. While this shares similar elements, the execution was just too bland and made it feel like a disappointment overall.

Pros:
- All of the action scenes are fun to watch, however some are far better than others
- Impressive settings and dangerous situations make some good, memorable, moments
- Once the story unfolds, and all of the characters are introduced, the movie becomes great
- The main characters are each interesting and unique
Cons:
- The plot is a total mess most of the times
- Some of the action is a bit too chaotic, which comes off as messy
- There is a lot of wasted time with scenes that do not add anything to the plot and are attempting to be funny
- It was really hard to care about the story, because of the lackluster introduction (first half)
Final thoughts:
This wasn't my favorite Jackie Chan movie, but there are worse ways to spend time! I wish the story was simplified and the characters were introduced a little better, but at least the action was cool.

Signal excels the most in two categories: the plot and the characters.
The plot was surprisingly deep, well-written, and was executed brilliantly. The time manipulation aspect was not corny or cliched.
The characters took some time to develop and to understand completely. The show does a great job of showing perspectives of other characters and revealing backstories to create character depth.
The only weak aspect of the show was the slow pacing, which works well for character development, but not so much for plot progression. Some of the aspects of the main plot are easily forgotten after being dragged on for several episodes.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this show!! Check it out and let me know if there are any other shows that are similar.

- Very heart-warming and inspirational story
- Optimistic and lovable protagonist
- Purposeful and deliberate movie
Criticisms:
- Presentation appears low-budget and older
- Progression jumps abruptly near end
- Pacing is slow
I really enjoyed the film and even think of it now (weeks after seeing it). The story is great! I love how the main character deals with her struggles with an optimistic outlook.
It really made me value my blessings and reflect upon my personal friendships/relationships. That is special.
I would recommend this to anyone. It is meaningful and may even help you evaluate your own views on life.
