Title Cupid's Kitchen Spoiler
As much as I enjoy this show and accept that celebrity chefs have egos the size of Russia, it's become patently…
yes, the bicycle shop owner romance is rather late in the making isn't it?
the fact that the doctor is complicit in a criminal act, and is the best friend of the person affected is really posing ethical questions. I know he's really into the woman and giving her moral support is one thing but giving her the resources to keep her secret intact is another.
Indeed, Song Yi Ran and the ex-GF are having a really strange relationship going right now. But in a very strange way, they are starting from scratch and getting to know each other as humans, with no pressure from anyone. It's definitely a more adult-like relationship that they are having now and one that will give the guy a lot more dignity than what he had when he was loafing around, using/squandering his family's wealth.
And I really hated the fact that it was a dream sequence; i mean a short dream would have been ok with me, but not the long, lucid, extremely poignant conversation they had. It made my heart ache so badly for her; unless of course, this is a case of dream becoming reality later on - but won't that just be too far-fetched for a drama with this genre?

I am in ep33 now. I still don't understand what Elise did to Oliver to make him suffer now. If u know, please…
She added something into his aroma therapy oil that eventually made him lose his sense of taste and subsequently sight. She knew fully well that it would have undesirable consequences on him. Her intention was to prevent him from being so obsessed about cooking and/or to rely more on her when he is in that Condition.

very fantasy-ish kinda story. but on a deeper level, it touches on the theme of death a little. Though right now, it's kinda deviating to other side stories...it's become a bit of a detective-like plot.

Glad you were entertained. After watching NovolandPE, this is god-sent: a light watch, should be HE, believable chemistry, easy on the eye. And the ML was the Si-fu in TLB with Reba, which I just finished watching, so that was one of the appeals.

I read the synopsis but still don't get it.
essentially, it's a story about a guy who through a strange turn of events becomes immortal (don't even question logic as to how he becomes one, it's a very laughable explanation, designed for kids, not adults). He meets a girl who has an incurable disease and has only 1 year left to live (she is the by-product of a horrible experiment). Both fall in love - for some strange reason, when she touches him, she is like a living pain killer for the immortal who is wrecked with pain from 11 pm till way past midnight; he loses his sanity and becomes violent. Throughout his life, he is 'guarded' by people who are indebted to him. Decades ago, he saves a man, and the man's descendants swear fealty to him, protecting him when he gets violent and protecting his identity and secret from the world.
So, one can't die and one can't live. The mysterious designer is the immortal and the girl is a make-up artiste for the deceased.

At first, I felt devastated to watch the ending. But then, I realized some points from this drama, that's not…
lol recycled the name, nope, it's HS's son with Di Xu in the novel. They kept the child's name, changed the father! It can't be with DX, they already changed the direction that there is no love triangle.
Child actor portraying CP is Leo Pei

At first, I felt devastated to watch the ending. But then, I realized some points from this drama, that's not…
actually, someone (further below in one of the threads) pointed out that in the cast list, there is a child actor playing a character named Chu Wei Yun. in the novel, that is the name of HS' son. I suspect if they didn't have to cut the 7 episodes out, we would have seen a scene with this Chu Wei Yun AFTER she becomes Empress Dowager . Poor boy, he thought he can appear on TV with Yang Mi, now he's been omitted.

nope, you have to use google translate, no English translations. Some people like it - it's darker and the ending…
if not mistaken, Di Xu forced himself on her and took her as his consort knowing that HS was in love with FJM (who was by then an eunuch). I suppose overtime, she developed feelings for DX? This has to be confirmed by those who read the novel... I am merely summarising others' insights

come to think of it, there's no love triangle or misunderstanding in this palace court drama.
I would consider it a misunderstanding.. at least btwn FJM-HS.
HS thought she was abandoned, made use of in a plot, that her feelings had been trampled upon (sort of)... but in reality it was done to protect her - the question of whether the means justify the ends is up for debate and as they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions....

She only understands the intentions of FJM thanks to DX. If not I think the misunderstanding would have gone on for a bit more as FJM kept everything to himself, as his way of managing things. And so this is where the poor interpersonal skills come into play.

happy ending or no?
It's a matter of managing your expectations. Most of us kinda guessed what was going to happen except for a few minor changes that affected how we felt about the ending. So, if you are game for memorable endings and not everyone survives, duty for country, responsibiltiy towards 'family' takes precedence over love, then go for it. But if you are like my dad who wants everyone to survive and live happily ever after, then nope. :P

Would you recommend reading the novel? Is it better than the drama? And is it even available in English? I need…
nope, you have to use google translate, no English translations. Some people like it - it's darker and the ending has FJM and DX dying. The CP is HS-DX's son. There is a love triangle. So, it's up to you whether you will enjoy this or not. Novel here in case u want to google translate it.

Title Novoland: Pearl Eclipse Spoiler
Did you watch the scene after the credit where he caught the feather? But I agreed I want more!!!!
You know the ending with the crane flying above head and it sheds a feather? It's when the Crown Prince aka Emperor is telling HS that FJM's health has improved as compared with the earlier years...

From https://fengshuibeginner.com/crane-symbolism/, here's what the crane means: "In China, the crane, also known as the heron has always been one of the most auspicious symbols since the olden times. It is a symbol of nobility and long life. In addition, it also represents everlasting love and loyalty in romance. "

And from artfixdaily.com: "In Chinese culture, the crane is venerated as the prince of all feathered creatures and thus has a legendary status. Embodying longevity and peace, it is the second most favored bird symbol after the phoenix"

So, I take it to mean that the country is ushering in a period of peace and that FJM will live a long life. I was a little puzzled as to why the feather flew in the wind and we got to see young HS with FJM.... and I think the first explanation informs us that it also represents "everlasting love and loyalty"....

So that's the parting message - though a rather cryptic one. Geez, it's not like all audiences know what the crane means!

Yes, I updated some info regarding this drama and his role in the site for Splendid Paintings on MDL. You can read a bit more about this drama there. Btw, he was saying he's in Shenzen filming right now, for which show? This one or the movie with Reba and Eddie Peng?
