I found and fell for BL, and I blame my cousin. She got me into K-pop, which for me progressed to k-drama, then varied Asian cinema. Then I found Thai BL series, and it was so nice being represented without it all being about s*x. And I was hooked. (Though there can be some work done - too much rape culture acceptance).
Because of that being my "in" to these works. I am now slowly learning Thai and want to visit there one day.
I am happy to hear of any recommendations, or talk about the shows with others who love them. As I don't know many who I can talk about them with.
