In all the chinese detective/suspense series this is the best so far. The pacing, the storyline, the script are really good and cohesive which i sometimes find lacking in Chinese dramas. The actors and actresses are all good too and on their A game. Hope there are more dramas like this and not ones where the actors all act cool but no substance. So if you are looking for a detective series with more substance with tight pacing and great character development this is it. Its not only with eye candy actors but actors who know what they are doing. I also love the actress whos the empress dowager. She really wasnt overpowered by anyone.

Acting needs more work

The premise is good, the script needs some work. The main actors are being overshadowed by the support cast. Their acting needs some work in other words.. im still waiting for everything to be better.
Im just a bit frustrated as the plot is really good but the delivery fails in so many ways. The pace isn't consistent. The acting has some promise but the lead actors are still lacking. The female coroner is supposed to be smart but im not getting that vibe with the lead actress. Its like the
The script has some big holes. I am still waiting for it to improve but im already on episode 8. All im seeing are good secondary leads while the main actors are being overshadowed.
