Took me a while to finish this, because somehow it got stuck in the middle of soooooo many dramas to watch. The acting was A M A Z I N G from all the main cast, and so was the production and cinematography: I loved the choice of pastel and smooth colors, adding a nostalgic and smooth feeling to all the scenes. The plot was a bit predictable, but which romantic/family drama isn't?
The thing I loved the most, honestly, was the himanity and realism of the main characters: usually in GLs there's always this overly dramatic and exaggerated behavior from one (or both) leads that is either stereotypical or clicheèd, not to mention the lack of communication... in this drama, on the other hand, both leads were "normal people" acting as any person would while in a relationship. It was such a refreshing couple!
Nice music, nice characters - I would have loved to see more from Oat and Kawi, because they were absolutely my favourite characters. View was stunning in her role, she looked so much more mature than her real age! And Sing... well, Sing is always a certainty!
Once again, kudos to whoever choose Sing/Bonnie as siblings because they rocked!
...ok, sorry XD That aside, this was another incredible episode! Honestly I'm a bit fed up with the crazy weirdo psycho brother, because in a normal world he would already be in jail. BUT for the sake of our fiction and melodrama, let's be patient with him for one, last, episode... Weinai and Janine are sooooo cute, I think the series would have benefited from less cringe drama moments and more focus on these lovely secondary characters, also because now we have SO MANY THINGS still to be cleared in the last episode...
If PondPan ship don't seal after this, i'm gonna crushout fr!! Thier chemistry is out of this world!! Hope to…
I feel they both are not into "ships"... up to now they've always changed partner in BLs and they both always did an amazing job... honestly, for as much as I would love to see them again together, I'm also very happy to see their acting grow and challenge new dynamics with other actors!
What a great first episode! Entertaining, cute and fun, plus a very nice and promising cast! Jimmy looks soooo fine here, maybe a bit too thin but he looks so elegant and graceful! And Sea made me cry after five minutes already, this boy can really act. <3
Happy to see Junior and First, too! Never get enough of them! And sidenote: Thap's sister is so beautiful, I'm in love with her already, she has mesmerizing eyes!
I have no words nor strenght anymore to write anything about this drama after watching this episode...
...BUT... ...please tell me that during Ramil's fencing training I wasn't the only one thinking about all those 60's/70's/80's mangas/anime like Attack No.1, Captain Tsubasa, Ashita he Attack... in which all the boys and girls have chains on their ankles and wrists and they have to run/jump to become stronger... XD
Aaaand it's over. Whether it was bromance or brotherhood, however you wanna see it, it was very well done: kudos to both actors because they really gave an intense yet elegant performance.
Basically these poor boys could have lived their lives together from childhood, instead they had to carry the weight of their families on their shoulders... no wonder it ended like that, Xiao Xi was a gentle soul and much more frail than Jianwei.
Great costumes, and also I loved the opening song but can't seem to find it on Apple Music or through shazam - anyone knows which song is it? Thank you!
Heeeeeeeeeeeng! Finally! *_* And for just a split second I thought he would have a normal role, but... after one minute... ah no ok, he's going to be the bad guy here too. XD
Anyway - for as much as I love Yo's character, I am perplexed with Jom's: he's so fickle, changing his attitude continuously... just one episode to go, we'll see how everything ends!
(Sidenote: this was the one series they had to title KIDNAP... basically at every episode someone gets either kidnapped, attacked, hurt or whatever...! XD)
idk where the misinformation or translation is coming from but chenwang said "婉娘跟蕙娘本就是亲姐妹"…
Thank you for quoting the original phrase!
Yes, the translation/sub says "birth sister" which is a completely different thing from a real sister (and it was something very common too, so it could have been a completely normal thing), so your quote of the original dialogue was much needed.
I think you had bad subs maybe, bc it said that they’re real sisters, they even have same family name
Yes, the subs said "birth sister" which was actually something very common especially in courts -- but listening to them talking in chinese they actually call themselves jiějiě, and there is someone who quoted the exact phrase in chinese which uses the term for biological sister.
I would be very curious to know if this story is adapted from a novel, what the novel says. (Yeah you're right the surname is the same, Huiniang and Wanniang, and the same characters are used too)
I saw the trailer for this and I just know it's going to destroy me in the same way The Miracle of Teddy Bear…
This! Ep6 just came out and I just had the same thought, the look in Rati/Inn's eyes and my mind just directly went to MoTB... I'm not mentally prepared to cry that much!
Aaaaand it's over. I had a lot fun, as expected, although the "noncommunication" trope becomes tiresome after two whole series... but yeah, the actors did great and delivered such a weird, chaotic and overthetop comedy that I couldn't stop smiling or laughing (I especially loved Akafuji and Haibara, their mindtrips were pure gold for me!).
In case you don't know: "birth sisters" means they gave birth at the same time, not that they are actually sisters. Their mothers were only friends, not sisters. So, they're not cousins.
(I haven't read the novel, so I don't know about the original story... but birth sisters is something that always existed in which women who give birth in the same moment help each other with the newborns. There are even social projects nowadays with this kind of help...)
Yes! I'm so happy and proud for marriage equality and I'm super happy to see it in dramas with proper official representation, yesssss!!!
(That aside... I will miss them so much! This drama started strong and weakened a bit towards the end, but I loved how their relationship evolved, it was so natural and never farfetched... so many great moments and nice dialogues... maybe it wasn't the best drama of the year, but it was a very good one and seeing KristSingto together again already deserves full points!)
Ok, I came late to the party but... looks like a great and fun one! *_* I just started bingewatching and I'm already halfway through, it's such a great series!
This will forever be one of my most loved dramas ever. I've watched it while it was airing (yes, I'm THAT old! XD) and I often rewatch it beacuse it never fails in making me laugh out loud, but also stop and care for all the characters in it.
And Nagase is such an incredibile, talented and versatile actor!
I need a good drama for Kame, please... he's an incredibly talented actor, but with the ability to almost always choose mediocre projects. This looks like it will finally be a good one!
