APPRECIATE BUT DO NOT COMPARE !! Besides, tinn is way younger and is a sweet, gentle "won't even hurt a fly"…
Yes I noticed that strange look between Chat and the lady too... but then after, when she was drinking tea with Tinn outside under the gazebo, she also gave a look to Phob... so I thought, ok maybe she's into Phob? XD Who knows! XD
I'm usually not a k-drama watcher but this one had me curious, so I started it with no real expectations... BUT boy it got me hooked! The episodes don't waste a single second, the dynamics between all the characters are sparkling and the story is so interesting! And I'm loving Ju Tae Son's character, he's so multi-faceted and his facial expressions change in the blink of an eye, you never know how he will act! And... his voice is so charming!

To be honest I hope "the wife" gets married to the brother, just like in "To sir with love"... I feel like Chat is a psycho due to his feeling of being "everyone's second choice" but I hope he can redeem himself and change his ways. :(
I agree on Ongsa being overly beautiful! But as for other "incredibly beautiful faces" from Thailand I'd say I'll vote for Keng, Net and Tutor from Domundi... and honorable mention to both Up & Poom. XD

I agree with you, Tinn and Saen seem pretty alike as characters but I get more strenght and will from Saen, who's also older and has also a more traumatic past that forged his character.
Anyway I think Tinn backed down seemingly "easily" because he was trying to protect Phob's life, wanting for him the best life and success (with or without him) - although his expressions say he still loves and care for him.
I'm positively impressed by both leads, they don't feel like a new pair of (almost) rookie actors. Fingers crossed for next episodes!
imo it's genuinely the best bl drama of this year as of today in terms acting, chemistry, story 10/10
Thanks everyone! I really liked Ongsa in Cursed Love, not only because he's so damn pretty but because his acting was quite charming for a rookie... plus I love Pond when he's doing the crazypsychobadguy so yesterday I bingewatched the first 3 eps - as of now I like the TSWL vibes and the two leads work pretty well together!
<-- this almost 40yo cried at the end of episode 9 and is not ashamed to say it! XD The whole episode, and especially the moon seaside scene that carried over to the postcards finale, was just so satisfying!
This series is so heartwarming, soothing and most of all: nostalgic! And kudos to all these young actors, they are really nailing their roles. It reminds me of MSP so much: good vibes, good friendship, good communication, growth and self-discovery.
The only issue I have is with the background music, because sometimes it pops out of nowhere and somehow clashes with the scenes... but that's something I noticed happens pretty often in P'New's dramas. (who, btw, is getting better and better as years go by)
Ep7 was so precious, after what we've been through! Kudos to both actors because the first kiss left me breathless…
And also, weird flash thought I had while watching - I'm on the "oldies" part of MDL users, born at the end of the 80's, and while watching Kuma as Lang Di this episode I kinda thought he reminded me of the character Adam from "Kagen no Tsuki" (an old manga by Ai Yazawa, the international title was "Last Quarter").
Ep7 was so precious, after what we've been through! Kudos to both actors because the first kiss left me breathless and I was almost shy watching them, and all their other intimate moments were so well done too! I love love love both actors and their characters' dynamics!
Btw tell me I'm not the only one listening to Roc Chen's ending song on an endless repeat!
I'm loving this so much! Love the humour, the chemistry of both couples AND of the friends group, all the quotes they keep giving and Kapook is winning her Fujioshi cup once again! XD Also, I'm liking how the drama doesn't take itself too seriously, it's just a fun romcom filled with sparkles that leaves you smiling from ear to ear!
I will need (and be happy) to rewatch this again before writing any complete comment, but I just want to say that I loved this from start to finish: it was just the right number of episodes, the perfect storytelling and an amazing test as actors for both Gemini & Fourth, who managed to really bring to full life their characters.
Thanks, P'Aof, for once again you outdid yourself!
I came here feeling the exact same way. I feel like the whole show so far didn't need the 7 episodes it has aired…
My secret dream is that one day someone will make a spin-off of Battle of the Writers ONLY with the wuxia part of it! The "novel" part was so interesting (and visually beautiful....!)
QUESTION because I think I missed this: I get the chinese original title, 莫离 MO LI, means something like "always…
I did some research on the different hanzi characters and I assumed it was a play on homophones, yes - thank you! I also found that saying which I found lovely. <3 Ideograms are so fascinating!
Another great watch! This year's C-dramas are really spoiling us.Loved how mature this story was, and how both…
QUESTION because I think I missed this: I get the chinese original title, 莫离 MO LI, means something like "always together", "never separated" - but why the international title "first jasmine"? is this a word-game with the fact that the jasmine flower also sounds as "mo li" (茉莉花 mòlìhuā), so being that the jasmine flower represents pure love and marital love, is it a reference to Yao being Li's first love?
(and also I found out that mòlì (茉莉) sounds like 没利 (mò lì), "without any material interest", which could be a nod to both Ye Li and Mo Xiu Yao being virtuous and loyal to the greater good)
Another great watch! This year's C-dramas are really spoiling us.
Loved how mature this story was, and how both characters slowly opened up one to the other: they both had traumas and a heavy past that scarred them, but managed to learn to live again through ups and downs. Great soundtrack and great acting from all the cast - also, I appreciated how nobody was really 100% good or bad: everyone had hidden agendas for their own interests, or for the nation interests, or for someone else's interest... it felt very "real" in this sense, life is never only black or white.
Unexpectedly, by the end my favourite character was probably Mo Jingli: I loved his backstory, and although I knew his ending was written already (plus, Ye Li was definitely right, he was no emperor material), it really made me cry quite a few tears.
This is not an overwhelming, grand, epic drama but Li/Yao married life is so heartwarming (although I hated more than a few moments in which she just goes and does whatever instead of explaining herself clearly) that had me enthralled from start to finish (just a bit of a slump in the middle).
9/10 for me, kudos cast and crew! Cheng Lei, keep on being so dashing! And Ling Mu Ran, best wishes for your career!

But looking forward to this, love these kind of series! <3
