Episode one of this show flew by so fast way back when, that we never really talked about the terrible underlayer of padding that they used to try and make it appear as though Suowei was fat π It was like they knew most of us would forget about it the second he 'lost weight' and then even more so after he ran into Chi Cheng for the first time ππ
this is so good omfg, can someone recommend me more good blβs? plsss
This is my BL recc list if you want to check it out: https://mydramalist.com/list/4Ko6OAK4 Many have already made some good reccs and you probably know some of these too, but maybe it'd be helpful. Revenged Love is DEFINATELY on my list lol
I think they may have liked each other a bit but never went further than a kiss. But that's how I interpret it.
This is an interesting question for someone to ask me since I'm a 'traditionalist', I've been in the slash game for years and, I've always preferred my tops and bottoms to be exclusively one or the other.
But on the rare occasion, I can see two tops or even two bottoms hooking up. In the case of CC and CY, (based on the novel and the show, but more the novel), I do think as teens (when they were referenced to to be fooling around) they would have been more 'flexible' about who did what and what went where, so I think not necessarily defined as vers, but I'd say they likely experimented with different options, probably tried switching at least once or twice, before they (as two men with ultimately dominant preferences) would have figured out they weren't compatible in the long term, hence the reason they settled into a relationship with limited boundaries and sexual undertones as extremely close friends. So even if they had some romantic feelings underlying the sexual attraction early on, they would have decided to be table that over all side of their relationship (mostly) since as you know if they novel, it wasn't only as teens that they crossed into the friends with benefits side of things.
The very scene you're referencing, XS says he couldn't help thinking CC and CY were a good match, even despite CC being in love SW. CJD implied a lot about them, but ultimately, they were not compatible as a steady couple due to their preferences.

LOL, weeeelll, personally, I think CC and CY would be superiorly hot together lol so I would have been fine with it in the show, like I was fine with it in the novel. I didn't think it was weird π
Revenged Love has opened my eyes to the world of cdrama and now I want to explore it more, especially so I can…
I would absolutely recommend The Spirealm (a censored BL) and for newer, non censored CBLs, The Sparkle in your Eye and Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island are enjoyable.
The show kept it ambiguous on purpose (the book is much more poly between the core 4), but the way I interpret…
" I interpret their relationship is that they are best friend soulmates who have no boundaries between each other. They do have sexual chemistry, but the best way they can love each other, now that they have met their romantic soulmates, is to be very close best friends." ~~ solid take π
...are there in the show for a reason." ~~ yep, there was a reason for all of that being in the novel (more explicitly) and then still included in the show despite being watered down. CJD was hinting at something underlying between CC and CY.

To have jacked off or fooled around as teens (which is referenced in the novel) that's sexual. But the novel and show both remain ambiguous and vague about anything romantic.
So i'm a bit curious, but are ChengYu and ChiCheng platonic? Like I think they are, but the way the series made…
Even the novel remains mostly ambiguous on whether they (or just CC) had romantic feelings, but they did have a sexual history in the novel, they used to fool around as teenagers, and as adults they lacked a lot of boundaries. The series tones down the closeness of their relationshios but still keeps it ambiguous. Chengyu denies any romantic feelings to Wang Shuo but again, it's never actually discussed or made clear and we never find out CC's side of things. I would like to know what CJD was thinking tbh, because a lot feels implied but left unaddressed on purpose.
As much as I loved the series, I think China should stop making BL altogether until the ban is lifted. The whole…
"I think China should stop making BL altogether until the ban is lifted." ~~ blasphemy. I'll take what I can get and die on a hill somewhere with it π
Something something, brother? Calm down...[Pat... Pat... Pat on the shoulder]
Oh man, I didn't realize you were on this multi-account level of batshit unhinged π had I known I would never have responded to you initially LOL Keep on with your crazy self, however many of them you pretend to be βοΈπ

Enjoyed this BL!
