I saw the 'brother' thing coming, after Nankrai's confession, since in the beginning of the ep when Tontrae used the word 'brother' while helping with Nankrai when he was drunk. It was bound to come full circle then, especially after what happened with Somo, it felt like this episode set up the 'friend/famlily-zone' theme. Nankrai is also suuuuuuper bad at articulating his feelings clearly, judging by his fantasies he's clearly more of a....hands on expressor, sort of dude.
I am glad Somo finally got a clear 'no', but unfortunately, I don't see her taking it well. Bets on her being the one to out Nankrai to Tontrae?
I will keep watching this because I'm enjoying the over all filming and acting style, but if Tontrae ends up with Nankrai, this show ain't gonna mean shit lol. I dunno how torn the audience is, but I can't see a single thing about Victor that is more likable than Nankrai, except for some, that he's pale and I know that's a popular thing and is considered more attractive in many Asian countries. In a real life situation though, it would simply be down to Tontrae's feelings and what he is or isn't attracted to, but this is a BL show and giving us Nankrai in the background while trying to sell Victor as a better choice is a weak play. Ain't nobody got time for that, Victor needs to just go home.
This episode was really good, good pace and a lot happened.
HIGHLIGHT: - The acting, especially the emotional and angsty bits, especially Win when he was angry at his dad for falling for the scam. Very noice. - GAP SHOWING UP. I didn't even so much as suspect he would be in this, but awesome. He's perfect for a fighting, also all around very likable, even though his character in this seems to be a mixed bag. - The second pairing. I rarely every pay attention to, let alone like, second pairs in BLs, I almost always skip and ignore them, and any 3rds or 4ths too, but this is one of the rare occasions to not skip, Win and Itt are actually just a little more likable to me than the main pair. - I thought Win was the sus one, turns out he's just a gambler, but ITT IS SUS, what the hell was that phone call about, ya'll. - Enjoyed the humor in this ep too, even though it was a mostly angsty ep.
NEGATIVES (for me) - Love rival plot lines are shit, they're never interesting or suspenseful because duh, the main pairing will end up together so they're just wasting our time. - The kids arguing who's dating who was just a very stupid scene in general. Felt forced and unnecessary and a way to cover for Keen not saying 'yes, I have a boyfriend' the first time Yut asked him at the bar.
EXTRA: - When Gap takes his shirt off, everyone else playing a fighter in this is gonna look bad 😂
Sun's boyfriend died in his arms while kissing, Peace met him when trying to k!ll himself because of the life…
I have passed over (MGB), dropped (FY & P10L) and skip-watched (We Are only for PondPhuwin scenes) LOL Those BLs are not a standard at all, GMMTV is NOT a standard. It almost feels like they put effort into making BLs with shit stories carried only by fan fave pairs and decent budgets. Blegh. Chinese uncensored BLs are making a sneaky come back though, so there's that :D

BL has fostered a following of people who take physical scenes of the 'pairing' before any kind of character dev or plot. Indeed, that is why most BLs have shit to zero plot, because as long as the 'pairing' makes eyes at each other, does some 'skinship' and kisses or has sex with each other by halfway through, the production companies of BLs keep their money making fanbase interested, to hell with the rest of the viewership who actually like some substance in their shows. 😂 That is why we can be grateful for western LGBTQ shows. BL is for fun, can't take it too seriously unfortunately, I for one, am enjoying a little more depth and layering in this show.
Not bad, they actually used some strategy this time and made a real plan, well done boys! The fight choreography also improved. I reckon we're about to see a turn in events, it's gonna be Madam Yao teaming up with Sun against Joe probs, and the psycho rapey guy who seems to be playing both sides is gonna get his due.
The pace has been good! I am yet to like Peace as a character though, he is...spineless, thus far. Also, somewhat void of personality. I'd like to see his character develop a bit more in the next ep.
Wait they can have uncensored BL in china now? Did something change?
Nope, Mainland China's homophobic government is still a tightly clenched sphincter, but since The Spirealm dodged the censors last year by selling the show internationally, a few small productions are following suit, and a big one like Justice in the Dark too, sold to Japan, finally airing after years of being shelved. Still censored, but at least aired. Cn censored BLs are still good anyway. It's great. Rooting for those who are not giving up in China 🙌 åŠ æ²¹
Because the show was banned in between by the chinese govt. or better to say their National Radio and Television…
Because it's adapted from a BL novel and Mainland China has banned BL series of all kinds, even censored ones. The producers of these shows are just recently starting to sell their works outside of M.China so they can be aired for fans, it started with The Spirealm, and it's since then it's been done for Blue Canvas of Youthful Days as well, and now Justice in the Dark. Also, some non-censored Chinese BLs are being internationally aired to avoid censorship.
Here's to me not caring about the farfetched spy story and stating that this is one of Taiwan's best BLs in terms of pairing and over all completion. It's silly in places and cheesy in other places and the production is not perfect by any means, also, personally, I always think second pairings are unnecessary and two gay brothers are statistically unrealistic, but even with those things I don't like, I enjoyed every moment of Hei and Bai as a pairing and this BL is going on my recc list. It was a pleasure to watch, nothing deep, just good simple fun.
I also like the OST, so even though I don't like singing in shows, the singing didn't bother me, especially since he ran out of lyrics and that was funny LOL.

Worth a one time watch for sure.
