Exactly. They have gone through the same exerience before, with the smell and heck, even the king's face has two red splotches...not wounds like previous times but surely is telling enough??? I hate it when the plot just turns idiotic to give us a climatic ending.

Ep 15 - what a mess and everyone just turned stupid. Evil staring right at you, stinking up the place and everyone just standing around debating. Pointless dialogue and so draggy. So many why her, why me, why us…just seeing that vile man laughing and mocking in response. Everyone holding back and following decorum, instead of doing the execution immediately.

My blood is boiling.

Looks like this is another show where the leads will sink to their lowest points before hopefully they will triumph. In the final episode. To be honest, I don’t even care about the leads or the King anymore. I just want the eldest prince and the abalone face eunuch as well as the guards to survive.

This seems interesting and I watched up to ep 5. The ML is really easy on the eye. But I want to know the ending first before continuing. It’s a revenge plot but I still prefer a HE so I’ll wait until it is done airing.

I was so eager for this, I tuned in this morning thinking the first episode was already out! Now I have to wait for another day.

Interesting first 4 episodes - I was not expecting such silliness but might as well enjoy the comedy now before the angst starts. I quite like the characters so far, even the annoying instigator Jiang Bian.

The whole outcome with ZZX was also predictable. Some of us were already discussing how it would turned out much earlier on.
We also predicted Gao Ming’s loyalty and the entire romance arc s so typical.
What was unpredictable was how the leads kept fumbling.
Honestly it doesn’t matter how many side plots they included, once you guessed certain things, the story becomes just another one to finish.

There's definitely a lot of plot convenience and viewers are just expected to accept it. Like another viewer mentioned, Zang Hai is also protected by a very thick plot armor so things just happen to work out in the end.

Regardless, agree with you that Xiao Zhan was excellent in his role. He's the main reason for my rating in addition to the cinematography and music.

Agree - good drama but nothing unique. Plot was very safe and like you said, was predictable.

The best part is the acting.

You're right - it ended up being a safe plot to ensure most will like it. Maybe once Xiao Zhan becomes really big, he can look for more controversial stories. That said, he did really well in his role here!

That’s where I guess I was most disappointed because ZH became love-brained dealing with that Eunuch Cao. He got lucky there with the Queen being the one who actually did all the work and dying because of it. After that he fumbled even more. He may not know a lot about the third guy but he was supposed to be smart and somehow his intelligence instead of improving from experience, just went down. Luckily, he’s pulled through but it was more because other characters conveniently decided to have a conscience.
