《蒹葭》is the lament of longing for a beloved tantalisingly out of reach, and one of the most famous love…
Thank you, your postings have been enlightening! I do hope that you write a review for this drama, even a compilation of all your previous postings would be helpful for others :D
I'm more inclined to believe in a happy ending, given the previews of all the remaining eps. You can find all…
I really enjoyed reading your thoughts. Your observations about the cases feeling more personal and grounded, rather than relying on huge conspiracies or palace intrigue, gave me an even greater appreciation for what the drama is trying to do. I hadn't thought about the comparison with Justice Bao, but now that you mention it, I can definitely see it.
I also hope you'll consider writing a full review when the drama finishes because I think this little gem deserves someone to do it justice, and I honestly think you'd be the perfect person. Your episode reactions already make me appreciate details that I might have overlooked.
I completely agree with your thoughts on the acting. Zhu Zhengting has been excellent—his micro-expressions are so natural that you really do experience the story through him. And Hankiz deserves a lot of praise too. Despite her character's icy, guarded demeanor, she conveys so much with just her eyes. Those tiny shifts in expression reveal vulnerability and softness long before the dialogue does.
And yes... the chemistry between them is incredible. They're both ridiculously easy on the eyes, but it's the way they play off each other that really makes every interaction so compelling. I'm thoroughly enjoying watching their relationship evolve.
Also... your "chipmunk on a sugar high" description made me laugh because I was the same watching episode 16. 😂
This was enjoyable! If you search for this on Youtube, you can find a series of 6 episodes where they compiled 3 10-minute episodes into one. This makes it flow better. The story of course is nothing original but the leads bring fun to their characters, and have chemistry. Also, the ending actually makes sense and leaves me satisfied.
For real. She’s a very talented (and supremely gorgeous) actress who just hasn’t gotten the right project…
I completely agree that she was great with Alen Fang but I put that show on hold after being annoyed by the second couple. I found them too vexing! I think I will try to finish it again- just fast forward through the annoying couple’s scenes :D
A pretty good watch - strong, skilled female lead who can defend herself and who’s smart most of the time…there are some lapses in judgement but not enough to put me off. Faithful ML and pretty green flag unlike other short length series.
Very enjoyable so far and the leads are good! I’ve always like Hankiz and feel that she just needs one breakthrough role to get the attention she deserves.
This show was so silly that I thought it was intentionally parodying itself. It reminded me of the classic old-school lakorns where everything is exaggerated, dramatic, and completely over the top. That sense of nostalgia ended up being its biggest charm, drawing me in more than I expected and making me look forward to each new episode all the way to the finale. It's light, easy entertainment—the kind of show you can sit back and enjoy when you don't want to think too hard. The romance is very PG and cute, and I liked the songs featured. Overall, I would say - give it a try and see if it’s your cup of tea.
I agree with Netflix's description of this show as cathartic. It was incredibly satisfying to watch, while at the same time being deeply frustrating. What bothered me most was how accurately it reflects the reality that there are students, teachers, parents, and administrators who genuinely believe they are above it all.
Of course, the show isn't particularly realistic in its portrayal of justice. The kinds of consequences the "good guys" are able to impose on the villains would never be permitted in the real world. In reality, those who abuse their power often face far fewer repercussions than they deserve.
Still, if you're looking for a series that delivers a sense of justice and allows you to watch truly awful people receive the punishment they have earned, it's a thoroughly satisfying and entertaining watch.
The underlying plot was ok, solid enough to keep the story moving, but the romance was unquestionably the highlight. The chemistry between the leads was electric, making every interaction utterly captivating. The relationship between the second couple was just as enjoyable to watch.
What truly elevated the romance, however, was the way it was presented. The director understood that sometimes the most powerful moments are found in what is left unsaid. Lingering glances, subtle gestures, and carefully timed pauses created a palpable tension that was both romantic and sexy without ever feeling forced. The soundtrack was used with remarkable restraint; rather than overwhelming a scene, the music slipped in at exactly the right moments to heighten the emotion. Equally effective were the pauses and silence in between, allowing the actors' expressions and chemistry to speak for themselves. Those quiet moments often carried so much intensity.
