The Effect is a drama in which r*pe is a plot point, it addresses the harm and the reality of it. And in the drama…
Not once did I ever say any of that. I said it was a problem but i'm not gonna sit here for no reason taking time out of my day when like I said I was addressing another comment. Other people have left negative reviews on countless dramas. And rapists often getting away with it in real life doesn't make your argument any better. Me and "my kind" will simply stick with our opinions as you did yours. Arguing with you is clearly useless and it doesn't do me any good.

I watched the entire series, I did. I watched it because of MuRen and Licheng and their storyline. Who is stopping you from liking it? Not me and certainly not everybody else. The r*pe plot in its entirety was horrific and like I mentioned it was the romanticizing of it. "Hot, sexy, romantic drunken hotel scene?" Need I remind you which one was drunk? Xingsi was, it should not be argument whether or not the scene was r*pe. Yongjie ADMITTED to getting Xingsi drunk on purpose to have sex with him WITHOUT his consent. That. is. r*pe. I also see it as weird that Xingsi seemed as if he was a grown adult while Yongjie was a child when he developed feelings for him. People are enjoying what they like and giving reviews. Can I not give a review solely because I dislike the series? Other people do the same so why can't I? I wasn't stopping you from liking the series, I wasn't stopping other people from watching and liking the series. I was simply saying I don't recommend it. If you want to stop watching a bl because it disinterests you go ahead. I will do what I want and mind my own business. And you know what saying the r*pe storyline wasn't done well was a poor choice of words and my mistake but seriously is it that hard to say r*pe has been a consistent problem within the bl community?

lol. Are you saying that rape should never, ever be a plot point in a fictionalized work of art of any kind, ever…
The Effect is a drama in which r*pe is a plot point, it addresses the harm and the reality of it. And in the drama Call It What You Want, sexual assault is the plot point. These are incredible dramas and I would highly recommend them. I'm saying r*pe should never be romanticized as it is in this drama, other likes it, and novels as well. I'm not saying it should be banned, I'm saying they should go about it in a better way. Yongjie and Xingsi's entire storyline was terrible because of the r*pe that initiated their relationship. Never did I say it should be banned. Nor do I care if the author of this sees my point, this review was to address another one that I saw. I'm bringing attention to it.

R*pe is r*pe. Just because it's done by Yongjie doesn't make it a justification. Yongjie sexually assaulted Xingsi and because they fall in love LATER does not make it consensual. Also, the reason that it can only be sexual assault if done by a third party is completely ignorant. Both are at fault for what they did and Yongjie and Xingsi being a couple now does not excuse Yongjie for what he did. This a terrible point, this bl could've done so many things better. And not including the rape trope at all would've been a great start.

Thank you so much for pointing that out. They use sexual assault and the people being good looking as an excuse…
exactly !

I kinda wish the actor playing Si Qi was playing the main role instead of Hank Wang. :/
