FL learned to be a good professional and stronger adult, and the ML is learning to become a good person, though he is certainly much, much slower. It took 21 episodes to see a single tear from him. Don't forget that he typed out that "You do not have to be perfect to be worthy of love" on the typewriter, and the way the team edited it showed us the transition of, "you...not worthy of love" intentionally, and not long after the flashbacks to his childhood. He is also very complicated, and both of them have some pretty major flaws in their approach to the relationship. To me as a viewer looking in, it seemed like he was much more emotionally invested a lot earlier than she was, but she shows her emotions much easier. He introduced her to his friends and his mom as his girlfriend, she didn't introduce him to hers. The relationship was unbalanced in many ways, professionally and personally.
Overall, a very engaging and deep display of a beautifully flawed relationship, IMO.
Episode 20, when Luan Nian drove away at the start; "seriously, dude?" He could've gotten out of the car. Wow, I thought he would have gotten more settled at this point.
Episode 14: another example of Chinese family dynamic issues. From my reading, parents can legally require their children to emotionally and financially support them, but children have no legal emancipation or protections from such families. It is ridiculous, IMO. Feel bad for the guy.
The way they portrayed the passing of time was way off for me. I'm in Episode 13 where they talk at the beach, and Luan Nian said that Flora had been at Lime for several years already. Has it been that long? It still seems like it has only been some months.
