Makes sense to me that they would argue a lot. Their characters both have strong leadership roles shaping their personalities at the time they reunite after her death, and with all the misunderstandings caused by her lack of modern sensibilities and knowledge, they are definitely going to argue a lot.

Half and half his personality and looks. He really doesn't match well with how pretty I think the FL is. Also how he is 13 years older than her. He is a good actor and has a strong profile, but he just feels off. Part of it could be his "unemployed" and unkempt look for the character, but I think he doesn't look good next to the FL.
