Drama is severely better than the novel. If I was the novel writer, I'd be envious.

Title Hidden Love
Is the Female Lead childish and/or annoying and irritating? Honest answers please? The last couple of C-dramas…
She's childish, but not annoying and plays the age she's supposed to very well. Zhao Lusi is always good, though. She also has this magic about her to make her male leads often seem to fall for her so often they have really good chemistry with her.

I know why it's getting down voted--it's because people want a cotton candy drama, but the opening song, nor the set up says it's a cotton candy drama. It's not fluff, and you have to work to figure things out, but people are going on and on about how it should be easy to understand and how the side stories have no relation to the main characters--but they do. You have to work it out for yourself what it says about the main characters.

There are plenty of idol dramas out there that are built to be mindless, this isn't it. This drama has layers you have to think about, put together like a detective and work for it.

OMG the male lead isn't in this drama much. Yeah, so what? He's in it more in the second half and you have to figure out what the story as a whole means rather than OMG I want eye candy and to stare at my favorites. This drama is actually putting the story first over eye candy--and that's rare. I can see why he wanted to be in this drama.

Title Beauty of Resilience Spoiler
Yeah second half was kinda odd. The director made odd choices on episode distribution and some of the cuts made…
Huge Super spoiler:

So they spent a mind-numbing 6 episodes after 30 years time trying to get the MFL back with the male lead after his delusion. Then they neglected their child. Like both of them. Really badly. Made me wonder if anyone on set was a parent and asking questions.

Then they built up the penultimate battle, which was father taking over MML's body.

MML didn't kill father at all, instead His step mom killed his father by using a time vault.

Then MFL sacrificed herself for MML, giving up essence to him.

MML, who couldn't stand FML sacrificing herself, used the essence he got from her to travel into the time vault and relive everything again., but not change time, or maybe indicated.

Their child finally hatched after 30 years and went to heaven. But seriously?? After the epic child neglect that child has to be messed up.

All of my fave characters ended up dying.

I'm not against everyone dying, or even sad endings... I mean I like Ashes of Love and have watched it a lot, and that had a bittersweet ending. But this ending felt like some other script writer had taken over and written it.

The time spent on making the characters fall in love wasn't enough. They needed more episodes, which they could have stolen from the 6 episode span of OMG, he forgot me, from the back end.

The ending didn't congeal for me. They kept promising over and over that the Phoenix would attain nirvana, and she never did. She kept sacrificing her power for the man.

And then they pointlessly killed all your faves.

So the major issue was pacing. But some of the directing choices were odd to me. The director(s) in the last section in particular, should have told the actors to think of the egg as precious, but they were tossing it around like a rugby ball. Slamming things into it, etc. And the parents spent a ton of time neglecting their child and thinking things like, "If you don't exist then I shouldn't exist." But YOUR CHILD. YOUR EFFING CHILD. WTH. Also I call BS, on the whole, slammed qi into the egg enough to kill it, but slam qi into a spiritual foxes' belly and they auto-know she lost the child or something. That makes no sense to me. You were tossing that egg around with the badly 3D printed leaves roughly, and now one qi blast to the *same exact area* and her child is dead? WTH. Makes no sense.

Honestly, They had 40 episode limit. They 100% could have delivered the ending they wanted. I would have added 2 episodes to the front. One to establish the shift from instructor-student to romance. And one episode to make maybe some excuses for why they left the academy they spent some episodes on but suddenly forgot about.

And to the back end, 2 episodes. One episode to establish the Nirvana promise and then maybe a fall from it, and then another to establish a better cohesive ending. Such as--what happened to Tao? Did YY's brother reincarnate?

Even without 40 episodes, it was paced weirdly.

Graphics were gorgeous and I didn't fault the acting, though the Heavenly Empress probably out acted YY and the Emperor quite a bit. I really liked some of her interpretations, though subtle.

But the directing and writing were just not clicking together.

Might be better to wait for Love You Seven Times. I read the novel and they easily can cram that into 40 episodes and have a pretty solid roadmap.

I really loved the first half of this drama, anyone have any recommendations like this one....but, better?
Lighthearted and funny, Love You Seven Times (also Xianxia) should be better and have a more solid ending if they follow the outline of the novel, which shouldn't be difficult to cram into 40 episodes.

Did the second half got bad? I was waiting for this to finish...
Yeah second half was kinda odd. The director made odd choices on episode distribution and some of the cuts made no sense. Cinematography was good to communicate emotion, but sometimes the directing felt a bit off. Not saying how since that's a spoiler, but it didn't click for me.

Really didn't like the ending, actually, there were many things I hated about this drama... It started off great,…
The directing choices were odd along the way more than the writing. I felt a lot of the things blamed on the writing alone were directing. The distribution of episodes was an odd choice.

I don't fault the acting, but the direction was all over the place in small ways that didn't make sense to me.

Person Ju Jing Yi
I've watched a lot she's been in, but she needs a new stylist. They need to put the time into putting her in different make up to fit the character so it doesn't limit her acting range. I think if she pushed her make up, she could also push her acting range so she could embody more character types. It frustrates me a little to see her acting the same with the same make up almost every historical drama. Find something new, different to embody the character.

I understood the ending to be only the leads went back in time/created a new timeline, and everyone else stayed…
I understand it as a time loop. It will keep repeating over and over and there will be no end to the child neglect.

Basically, they used Javascript, but Jaavascript is not a programming language. You can't hack anything with it. They wrote some nonsense and didn't do research for the ending scenes.

Wow! This is a mixed bag of cats! I loved the idea, loved the characters and especially loved the humor. Xiaoqi…
They didn't use "actual code" they used HTML with embedded Javascript. I was hoping they would use C variant or that godforsaken perl no one should use (I hate it so much, makes no sense) or something, but they used a scripting language instead. AND embedded in HTML, so it's really sloppy. lol var market. You'd use a terminal to hack and look at IP addresses. Their jargon written was also wrong. You'd use an FTP to delete the files, but once they are gone, they are gone, but most sensible programmers have a backup server. There is no restoration. If he's at the literal server, then it's really gone because he can delete the backup to the backup some services give. But if he had the password to the FTP the whole time, he could have done it from any computer since he owns the website and the server owners wouldn't necessarily have access or the password. It takes days for them to fix things.

At least PHP, which you can't hack anyone with?

Javascript is about as dangerous as your grandma's pinky toe twinging in a rainstorm. It's not even a "true" programming language. Jquery is somewhat better, but you wouldn't embed it into an HTML document in better practices. You'd do an include.

Summary I wrote up by watching the first and second episodes: Natsuki is a worker in Kubrick Dining in Kichijoji. Between Lunch and Dinner the diner turns into a movie set. Everyone participates in the filming process except Natsuki. Natsuki originally wanted to be in the film, but instead finds herself on the sidelines doing meal prep for dinner.

BTW, I understand Japanese well enough to write it, so if you're asking at the time of this writing, where is the second episode sub? Dunno, I watched it raw.

If it is a copyright issue, it is most likely they would have to pay restitution and legal fees. I find it strange…
Japanese handle copyright issues differently, though. Like when Lion King was put into question for its odd similarity to Kimba the White Lion, all Japan asked for was recognition of the similarities. In addition, Japanese and Chinese relations right now are kind of tense, so if Japan brought it up, it probably would be ignored. Thus why Chinese citizens likely stepped in to ask their own country to do better.

When China pulled it against Korea, taking some shows close to wholesale, without copyright permission, they closed a lot of the relations thereafter. (as in the government). Korea, though, tried to sue, but the suit didn't go much of anywhere.

So there's also politics involved. But this is yet another reminder, Chinese citizens and the government aren't the same entities and they don't all think the same.

The copyright violations were probably over the show's similarity to Rikekoi, a Japanese manga/drama. BTW, really good and had uncharacteristically dry humor. So I suspect they had to rework the show to stay away from the similarities. I'm glad Chinese citizens called it out.

who do you guys think she will end up with? i dont wanna start this if shes most likely going to get back with…
The cast listing has her end up with Izumi, my non-canon ending is she runs off and becomes a Buddhist nun if these are her only two choices. There are better teenage Japanese romances than this story. You need a bunch?

There is a difference between saying something and doing something. Sometimes words alone are not enough, you…
Nyahh, then Yamato gas lit her to hell. That's an action. And then Izumi victim blamed her, repeatedly. That's also an action. And then she couldn't figure out that she was assaulted and melted to the floor and blamed herself. "OMG, I cater to others too much." Because it's an abuse story without recognizing the abuse. She should become a Buddhist nun then. Best option.
