IT's really good, but could be awseome
First of all, I didn’t read the manga so I don’t know how much the drama stays true to the story of the book, but in fact it’s not the most important thing.I was really hooked on this drama, the action scenes are the best I've seen. Even though it was 2011, I watched after seeing K-2 and Healer and found the action scenes better. The performance of the entire cast is very good and the characters were very well prepared by the actors, which makes the story much more credible. The OST is generally good. The romance develops slowly and the scenes between the protagonists are sweet and funny, the push/pull game works but up to a certain point. And the plot is sensational !!
The series has an excellent development and a very good pace, where everything is happening very well tied up until the 13th episode ... After that it starts to drag and it is very difficult to watch without pressing the FF button. Many scenes without context or even, in a way, repetitive. And the relationship between the protagonists falls apart. That push / pull thing that was working ends up getting annoying and that nice tension between them just disappears. This drama could have 16 episodes instead of 20 and I'm sure it would be much better.
Now let's talk about the ending - SPOILER ALERT.
After dragging the story for more than 5 episodes, the director decides that everything will be solved in the last one and that leaves, contrary to what he wanted, several open ends and everything gets very confused.
After the shooting where Yoon Sung and Jin Pio are shot, JP assumes all crimes by saying he is the real City Hunter, but says that this person - YS in this case - has to die and the two end up unconscious and covered in blood on the floor. Cut to a year ahead where it is assumed that YS is dead, because his mother moves to the USA with the ahjussi with a very sad face and Na Na meets with friends and they mention that it has been a year since YS is no longer over there. Cut (yes, just like that) A Na Na scene dragging a suitcase where she seems to see YS, she runs and he appears behind her, they look at each other and smile and cut. The last scene is YS driving a car through the city at night. The End!
Really ??? WTF?? If he wanted to imply that he did not die, there are other ways ... and, if he did not die, what's the need for him to hide the fact that he is alive from his mother? Why would he continue as City Hunter ?? I really didn't like this ending, because I think it was not faithful to everything the character developed throughout the series: what he wanted the most was to have a happy life with the people he loved and that would be very possible since JP confessed to be the real City Hunter. Now, if he really died, what was the scene where Na Na and he meet? Delirium??? And the driving scene?? LAME !!
My ending: After the shooting, the ambulance arrives and takes YS, Na Na goes beside him (the camera moving and defocusing and an appropriate soundtrack convey her suffocating and desperate feeling about what is happening) they arrive at the hospital and he has to be resuscitated and end up in a coma. During this time, all the people with whom he created a bond will visit him, which shows that he is no longer a lonely guy. He is loved and has built true bonds, something he always wanted in life. After he regains consciousness, sitting on the bed, he puts his hand on his chest and misses something, opens the drawer of the side table: empty. The nurse enters and he asks where the necklace he was wearing is. At that same moment Na Na arrives and shows the hand with the ring. The ring his mother gave him and he hesitated all the time to put it in Na Na's hand because he was afraid. Cut to the scene / flashback where he opens the wooden box with the ring and with the bullet that his "father" was killed. He returns the bullet to JP and puts the ring on a necklace around his neck, as if to say that till that moment he lived to fulfill his promise of revenge, but now he will live to fulfill his promise to himself to be happy with the people he loves and have a normal life. Cut back to the hospital: the two look at each other, he takes her hand and kisses the ring, the tears roll, nothing needs to be said because they already know. The End!

They proved u don't need a lot of skinship in a BL series to nail it!
Well...first I kept asking myself, just after I finished this one, why took me so long to watch it. Then I realized that it was good I did that, bcs I was going to be insane if I had to wait for an episode per week!!That's how f*cking good this series is.
The plot is knew in the BL world and its very well written and the pace is good as well. The acting is on point (despite some cringe dialogs....omg, a lot of cringeness!).
Their chemistry is good, u have the shy one and the sassy one, and sometimes they change places giving the couple a lot of credibility. The way their relationship grows is beautiful and I loved all the Easter eggs from the multiverse!!! it was a great idea!!
So it's a 10 out of 10 to me and the credits song will be on repeat at my Spotify for a long time!
I strongly recommend it!!

What a bummer!!!
I just finished the series (just for the sake of finishing it, although I'm a big fan of the leads) and felt cheated because it started so promising and I really enjoyed the firsts episodes, but then the story became a real mess...Some characters that could be promising, like FL ex boyfriend - if he had developed as a real scoundrel, but he were used for the sole purpose of creating WEAK plots trying to take down ML. He appeared and disappeared without any linearity.
The other Ex from ML that appears later too, just a cliché trope...
And don't get me started with the side couples....none of them have any chemistry at all!!!!!!!
There wasn't any story, there was no character development (in the beginning you're rooting for FL to break free and become independent but, as the series goes by, many of hers achievements happen because ML helped. And in the last two episodes she ends up being left aside by him, who solves their crisis all alone, without any communication!!)
I'm really tired of this misogyny of CDramas - even more when they come in disguise on a promising and exciting start!
Anyway, another Mary Sue Drama...watch without any expectation and at your own risk!

I Felt in Love !!
I rarely write long reviews, in fact, I barely write reviews cuz I'm a lazy type of person! But as Fall in Love was my first watched Republican Era drama (I tried to watch Arsenal Military Academy, but I dropped. maybe I'll try again cuz I'm a huge fan of Bai Lu) and I enjoyed soooo much, I felt like writing!!
Why I enjoyed so much?! Well...
1- The costumes catch my eyes and I have a soft spot for it (I'm a fashion photographer)
2 - The soundtrack is really cool. The intro and outro songs got stuck in my ears and I found myself watching the end credits in almost every episode just to sing along (this never happened!)
3 - A strong, intelligent and - often - ahead of her time FL, which is a rarity in chinese dramas and surprised me even more for being a period drama. Okay, sometimes she was saved by ML, but that doesn't take away the merit. I was very impressed with the actress, who is practically a newcomer and managed to deliver all the emotions of the role!!! Hope to see her more often in other roles!!
4- The rhythm of the series caught me from the first episode!! Each episode had a plot and ML always managed to anticipate it, even with several plot holes and also with some predictable ones the story developed very well and caught my attention from beginning to end
5 - The lead's chemistry is impressive...the fun and intelligent dialogues and the way they trust each other and grow together throughout the story.
What I didn't like was that the leads are always deviating from the schemes and they don't have a happy time together...the last two episodes could have been written in a way to let them spend more couple time together (a time skip, maybe , already with children...) I missed it!
Another thing: when the production crew are going to learn how to make fake blood??? Guys, with gelatine and food coloring you make fake blood that looks real!!!! It's the easiest thing in the world!!! I can't stand pink blood in a series that has war and a lot of scenes that involve blood, right?! Also the war and fight scenes were pretty weak...
Overall I really liked it, it surprised me, I recommend it and, for sure, I will review it at some point!

It's Okay, that's love and IT'S AMAZINGLY AWESOME
I bumped into this drama by chance, without knowing anything about the story. I actually saw a trailler after another drama that I was watching and, without understanding what was going on (there were no subtitles) something got me! So, I decided to try.And I am SO VERY happy to have done that! I just finished and I must say it is one of the best dramas I have ever seen: made me cry, laugh and fluttered my heart!
What I liked most about this drama is that the story starts out light and funny, so you have a plot and even if the story gets a little more complicated, the pace is right and it remains a beautiful picture of the relationships between people who are striving to maintain faith in themselves, in life and in love. The medical terms are all placed in order to facilitate understanding and mental illnesses are presented in a way that empathizes with the viewer, in order to dispel any prejudice.
The acting is incredible and the OST is undoubtedly one of my favorites.
I will rewatch it at some point, for sure !!
