A great romcom
I watched this sometime after Full House, which was also a romcom. I must say this is both acted and written better than Full House. Entire cast is likable with likable characters.This show is mainly about a female protagonist who is a tomboy who has never worn high heels. Gender bender confusion is done very well in this show. The other, a favorite, gender bender show, where true gender is hidden, I had seen was You Are Beautiful. Here the deception goes on much longer than that show.
The romance in this show is more mature than either Full House or You Are Beautiful.
I didn't know what a Barista was before this show. I had seen coffee restaurants use that name but didn't know the meaning. I also dint know it takes real skill to make good coffee , to be a good barista. Here characters get trained years to become a barista. I was surprised. I mean how hard can coffee making be?
My minor negative comment on the show is I felt early on it was drawn out and slow at times.
Finally I think the ending was good.

Just an Okay/Fine show. Nothing more.
I looked forward to this show as it was written by the Hong sisters who also wrote very good kdramas as You are Beautiful and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. But this is nowhere near as good as those shows in my opinion. First of all I didnt think the writing is as good as those shows. Secondly the cast is nowhere near as good as those shows. This show really needed Shin Min-a to star this show as the Ghost whisperer.Now what we have is just an Okay/Fine show. Nothing more.

Maybe an important shoiw that can have influence on public opinion on reunification
This has an interesting scenario for romance story. Romance between a South Korean woman and a North Korean elite soldier must be the one of the most taboo things one can think of when writing the plot for a KDrama as these two countries have high tensions. I dont know how accurate the depiction is of the North Korean part is, it must have fascinated the South Korean audience. The romance is better than many other dramas and the ending of the show is really beautiful. I mean it really is shot on one of the most beautiful places on earth, highlighting the emotions of the characters. I have a feeling many Koreans will be yearning for reunification of the two countries after completing the show.Was this review helpful to you?
