Yes, those words were harsh. At 0:58, he asked his men to take her away but she refused. That's when he started to speak harshly to her. I think in part he wanted to protect her and make sure she is kept away.

I saw the trailer on Netflix but I haven't got around in watching it. I am too wrapped up on TLB at the moment. LOL Shadow and Bone sure does look interesting!!
