As a character SYR is an interest and multi-layered. LYQ did a great job in showing SYR's tortured soul and increasing madness. It's definitely one of the most challenging role in this drama other than XFF.

No not at all. It's good ending without the extra episode. It's a satisfactory ending with Duke returning.

I think the ending is well done overall. I'm satisfied and even think the extra episode is unnecessary. Everyone got their just ending. My expectation for Shen Yu Rong is just right in my opinion. He lost his soul a long time ago and this is his only ending where he has to take his own life. It's good that she didn't soil her hands in the process. He was delusional in thinking they can go back to the way it was. The Princess was delusional too in thinking she can force someone to love her. Her ending is what I expected too with Shen Yu Rong taking part in her death. Karma is real here. Nice touch to have Jiang Yuan Bai know the truth about his daughter. Well deserved to have him feel the deep regrets and pain. It's too bad both of the Duke's subordinated died. There are few things they can do without in the drama like the comedy, unnecessary maid scenes, cut down on the stepmother's and sisters' stories. I do not need to watch the soap-like drama with the sisters fighting and scheming over a snake of a guy.

There are so many hateful despicable characters in this drama. I have to say Magistrate Feng is TOP. He was animal who tortured his subordinates just to assert his authority, r*pe women, killed whoever he wants, made all the villagers suffered and the list goes on!!

Ye Shi Jie may have suspicion about her identity. I think he got clarity after overhearing the conversation between XFF and her ex.

On this point: "-he then proceeded to frame his wife's family, killing her brother and having her father tortured and ruined", I doubt Shen Yu Rong has the manpower or influence to do this. It was done by Princess and her people ie. Chancellor Li to gain control of the cave. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Wow episode 32 is pretty good and intense especially between XFF/SYR and also XFF and Princess Wan Ning!! XFF really underestimated the Princess. She has some stuff up her sleeves according to episode 33 preview. Oh and the scene between XFF and Ye Shi Jie made me emotional. 😢 Like we have another great guy who supports and understands her.

I think he was a little drunk too. But yeah, he definitely lost control.
