Watched first 5 episodes aired today…this drama is really great! Chinese top production, acting all on point, and really good mature and realistic plot, with some few lighter and comedy moments. Xiao Zhan, not only improves his amazing acting work after work, but steady walk at the top of ent delivering top quality/production works one after another, and all different genre. There is really an high difference in the quality in his 3 works aired this year, compared to those aired in the past years, xiao zhan focuses on his work and walks forward on his actor path, bravo!
With the anticipation so high for this drama, I’m surprised at how low the rating is. Plus I’m already digging…

The more i watch the more i’m addicted! Latest episodes had such an amazing visual, sceneries are so beautiful and dreamlike! Fights are super good, people move with martial arts and choreography, really well done! I want to talk about the dragon 🤩 the cgi of the dragon is sooooo good! It’s rare seeing something like this. Underwater scene with kiss in ep 17 was a masterpiece! Feelings and events are now coming into a turning point! But I don’t want to add more details to not fall into spoilers!

Indeed..actually i was never attracted by pure xianxia exactly because those gods/devils eternal games aren’t my stuffs, i find them extremely empty and boring, but i have always anticipated ygy so much precisely because it’s a story of human with human feelings and values (right or wrong, it doesn’t matter, they are all relatable)..indeed better that constantly spit blood with no reason, for me is really important immerse myself and emphasize with a story and its characters 😄
I’m continuing to watch the episodes daily! Everyday i cannot wait for noon (my time zone) when the 2 new episodes are released! Im already addicted to this drama. Every detail is so well done and reasoned, there are no wasted time, it’s really rare find a cdrama without fillers and not full of useless and boring moments, i’m glad YGY hasn’t and the story is well developed. In the past few episodes also a new character appeared (qing gang) and i have to say that i’m really liking this character, probably my 3rd favorite for now after Shi Ying and the birdy eheh I love all the sceneries! They are so fairy and elegant 🤩 I don’t want to add something about the plot to not fall in spoiler, but i’m really liking the development of the story and i love see relationships born and be built and feelings blooming with their time ♥️ I’m enjoying this happy moments in the school (ahaha i also some hogwarts vibes) before all the angst will drown us (but actually i’m really anticipating the angst because i love this kind of stuffs ahahah)
Today i read several article and it makes me happy how many media pointed out how YGY is revolutionizing the genre of Xianxia. Many underlined how xianxia is stuck to god and devils and super heroes in the last years and how those don’t reasoned with audience. Instead Ygy is a story based on mortals who have humans feelings and this is bringing fresh air to this genre and is making natural to find connection points with audience, especially with younger people. Personally i find this amazing and i agree, any feelings from main leads but also from secondary characters are really relatable
