I had high expectations and it didn't serve
What can I say?To be totally honest, I really hard a hard time watching this.
I was even surprised by that.
Knowing that I am what we can call a ‘bon public’ and that I enjoyed more or less all of the series that were taken for our skyy 2, I didn’t expect to not like it that much.
In reality, other than Bad Buddy x ATOS and Vice Versa episodes (there’s also Never let me go but that is because I’m not being objective), I really didn’t like the series. I think it’s because I just didn’t find the point of most of these episodes. For me, they didn’t add anything to the stories. And for some it was even to the point to I was wondering why they even chose to gave us that.
So from my point of view, Bad Buddy x ATOS was a 10/10 and the rest was just *meh*. It wasn’t that bad either I’m not gonna lie, but it clearly wasn’t awesome. I guess I just had high hopes and expected better.
I’m just disappointed I think.

Definitely worth a try
Well, I’m a mess.When I started it, I really didn’t think I would like it this much.
It has its flaws but damn I was hooked by it.
I think the story overall is great even though some parts sometimes don’t really make sense.
The acting and the cast really made it all for me.
AhLi really got my heart and I’m definitely gonna need some time to process and accept his death.
I think the thing that frustrated me the most was the numerous time lapses. You had like no chronology whatsoever (you didn’t know how much time went or what year it was) and it felt a like they use these jump in time to cover some plot holes.
I read about people being mad because Rung and Korn didn’t end up together but I think it’s better this way. Even though they liked each other, I think it would have been a bit messed up if they ended up together.
One thing I really like was how they depicted how sometimes the border between what we think is good and bad is much complicated than what we think.
In brief, I really enjoyed the time I spent watching it (literally binge-watched it in 2 days) and would certainly recommend it.

Better than I thought it would be
I must say I started it with preconceptions.I think the main problem I had with it was that it was such a hit.
I remember when it was released, everyone was talking about it and I could see it everywhere. Because of this, I think I just got bored of it and lost any interest I could have with this series. Plus it’s not really the kind of tropes I know I will like usually.
However, now that some times had passed by, I thought it would be the good time to give it a try.
And I was right. Because I really enjoyed it in the end.
The story is nothing knew to be honest. The poor girl with the rich guy, we’ve seen that over and over. However, there’s something about Gorya’s will to fight that made it really interesting from my point of view.
The F4 group also really made it all for me. Despite their little fight, I really liked how deep is their bond and how they care for each other.
The same goes for Gorya and Kaning’s friendship. They were so cute.
Finally, I found Ren and Gorya’s relationship really beautiful although it was that kind of one-sided love (deep down I wish she ended up with him).
MJ and Ren were really my favourite characters. MJ is exactly what I like. The mafia kinda vibe but with his heart on his hand and always caring/prioritising his friends. I’m really happy he got his happy ending at the very end. He totally deserved it. As for Ren, how could I not like him? I think he is the most cutest and selfless character I have ever seen in a series to be honest. I would give him the world if I could.
Nonetheless, it wasn’t perfect and definitely had its flaws. Some stuff like the huge acceptance of bullying and the behaviour of Thyme’s mom really gave me the hicks.
But overall, it’s a great story and I would surely recommend it.

Cute but Sad
It was cute but at the same time I found it a bit sad.I understand Karl while I also don’t understand him.
Let me explain, I’ve been raised in a family where being gay is not an issue at all, as long as you’re happy, they couldn’t care less. So I can’t really relate to his struggle of telling the world how he feel. However, I know the world is not all rosy and while I can’t relate, I can understand and see his struggling.
Realising you are gay and coming out in front of everyone is definitely not an easy thing to do. Especially when the world is full of persons who won’t and don’t want to understand you.
But at the same time, I totally get how Vlad must feel. How he is ready to offer the world to the person he loves and that person just want to keep him hidden in the closet. I would be heartbroken by that too.
In fact, I get both of their feelings. They are both valid and that’s what is making it sad.
However, despite that, I think it’s a very nice series. No lies, no superfluous elements, no unnecessary drama. Just two guys who fell in love with each other while not being ready for it.

Not as good as the original
It’s been hell of a ride. And I must say not in the good sense of the term.First of all, it took me a long time to finish it. I started it for the first time like a year ago but couldn’t go any further than the episode 2. Something felt off with it and I just could bring myself to finish it.
I decided to give another shot after watching the Chinese version. I said to myself why not try again?
And I indeed found it better than the Chinese one, but with the ending it had, it wasn’t that complicated to be honest.
Unlike ‘Next Stop Your World’, which is literally a copy-paste of the Korean version ‘W: Two Worlds’, ‘Switch On’ took its liberties and reinvented the story.
I like the fact that they took the idea and made something new with it.
However, it stop there. Other than that, there were far too many things wrong with it. Too much things going on at the same time that you end up some time getting lost. Some characters and their actions don’t really make sense at some moments. And I personally felt like the story was getting dragged on for too long. It could have definitely been shorter. I literally binge-watched in a hurry the few final episodes because I just wanted to finish with it.
The series was not bad, but it wasn’t great either from my point of you. I feel like the ending is disappointing because nobody is really held accountable for what happened (especially Michael) and the final scene? Totally didn’t make sense for me.
So I’m happy I’ve watched it until the end, because I don’t like to drop series, but honestly I would definitely not watching it again. It would be a total waste of my time.
For all the people who are wondering whether watching it or not, if you ask me, I think you should stop at the original ‘W: Two Worlds’. The 2 remakes, whether it is ‘Switch On’ or ‘Next Stop Your World’ are not even close to be as good as the original for me. You will be disappointed.
However, if you like everything related to video games or virtual worlds and you’re be able to take a step back from the original version, then you can give it a go, you might end up enjoying it.

BounPrem saved it all for me
I gave it a 10BUT
It's a ten because it's them, it's BounPrem.
Otherwise, the story in itself don't really deserve a ten.
I think more something like a 7 or maybe a 7.5 at most. And I think I’m being very generous here.
Don't get me wrong, the story's not bad. Really not.
But it's not amazing either, especially after UWMA. I guess I really had some high expectations for this one.
I really think that I would not have enjoy it the same or that much if it would have been another pairing tbh.
Like the other couples were cute but I really liked it because BounPrem were the main, let’s be honest here.
About the story in itself, it was kind of basic in fact, the trope that start like kind of friends with benefits but quickly end up catching feelings. Nothing new. They tried to deepen a bit with Team’s background story and Win thinking of running away for a moment but it’s still basic from my point of view.
In reality, there’s nothing wrong with going for a basic trope when it’s well done. The thing in here is that I think they got a bit lost on their way. There were too much couples in my opinion. Like the story of Waan and Tul? Kind of useless because they didn’t develop it at all. The ideas were good I think but the execution? Meh.
In the end, BounPrem really save it all for me. So when I see reviews of people who didn’t like it, I think I can understand because if they weren’t one of my faves, I would have probably found the series passable and nothing much.

King and Uea chemistry made it all
So what can I say?I surprisingly liked it a lot more than I thought I would.
It’s been in my ‘plan to watch’ list since it came out but for whatever reason I couldn’t really bring myself to watch it.
I started it only because one of my close friends watched it and recommend it.
I don’t really like Uea if I must be honest. I sympathise with everything he's been through, it’s tough. But I just don’t relate to him I think. Sometimes, especially in the beginning, I could not stand his tendency to bring himself down.
On the other had, I really enjoyed King’s character, at least until episode 7, where one of his reaction REALLY disappointed me. He tried to be better after, explain himself and all, but I don’t know, it just bothered me that he acted this way.
The story is okay although I feel like they keep giving Uea more and more trauma. It almost felt like they were punishing his character. What frustrated me the most in their story was their lack of communication. I feel like if they talked to each other instead of assuming things, half of their issues wouldn’t have even happened. But other than that, the rest was pretty good. And most of the side characters were great.
Now what really got me into the series is King and Uea chemistry. It’s literally off chart. NetJames looked really really good together and it totally captivated me.
So if you like that kind trope, with the whole FWB kinda vibe, you should definitely give it a try.
