I am surprised at the low rating. It is not "Bad Buddy" quality, but I like how it focuses on the emotions of the characters. Some acting is questionable, but for the most part, they did amazing. I'm at ep 4 and I love it so far.
I'm at episode 7 and... I just. I don't know, honestly. I keep getting distracted because the character of Maze is just so flat, without any development it hurts to watch. Don't get me wrong, there were some episodes I enjoyed more than others but I still do not care that much for the series. I would even be fine with the cliché's and the typical BL sound effects and other stuff. It is just Maze's character that is weighing the show down. In EP 7 he's just an asshole and everyone is just fine with it. To avoid any confusion: I do not mean that Singto is a bad actor. However, do I think they could've cast a different actor for that role? Probably, yes... I think I'll finish the series, even though the comments for the recent episodes are more filled with frustration or disappointment.
I mean, it was great, really! but...in reality, I watched 6 episodes, then just watched some parts of the remaining episodes (because of the stress at work) and it was still fine...? It was a great series, violent one but great. However, nothing too out of the ordinary. I felt like it was really made to just shock everyone and I also felt detached to the majority of the characters... the Western audience is starved after Game of Thrones, so this was just made for them... I guess it only lacked some incest. (I'm joking, obviously) Though, I won't discredit the series. I think that I was mostly influenced by Beyond Evil which was the latest series I binge-watched. I love SHK and just overall enjoyed the series, the amazing acting and plot. When I saw the trailer for Squid Game I thought it would be a great shorter series to watch... then all the hysteria/hype happened and I saw so many spoilers all over social media. So I guess that's what I should blame too :D Still, I would recommend it. But I have to say that the last 3 episodes can be a bit predictable.
Okay, so this is yet one another drama where I won't be reading the comments on MDL as it is airing :D It's too much negativity, nit picking etc. I witnessed the same thing when Fish upon the sky was being aired and people were not feeling it, but in the end it was a good series. I do not expect Golden blood to be amazing. I am just glad that it is a different setting and different hierarchy between the MLs. Kinda sad to have such low expectations but whatever. So far (ep 1-2) , I've enjoyed the series. The storyline was developing, we also got some development between the MLs and their relationship... Noice! As for ep 3, I feel like the creators missed the mark a bit. The date was just pure cringe. I skipped the majority of it :D (I'll not even discuss the atrocious concert... ever.) HOWEVER! I'll still watch the series. I like the actors, the story and I will overlook some issues, at least for now.
I love this series. Everyone (including me) is so confused! I love it! Even though it is not really in a good way, I love how it makes us just confused. Nothing else! :D
I'm guessing you didn't pick up the subtleties in the second episode when Keam met the Dentistry boy in episode…
Yes, I did notice those... :) That's why I am pointing out his behaviour. It is still cryptic as hell (his conversation with Aim in ep 4, for example). And by complex you mean what? That he is unsure about their relationship or sexuality or both? I think it is a shame that his gf was only in one episode. And only for a while. I do hope the creators know where this is heading and will resolve everything!
I have to voice my opinion on the series... I just have to! But first, I have to say that I fricking love the actor who plays BBomb. He's sooo fiiineee. I read some comments that actually said he's ugly. NO! He's super handsome. I am glad that I'm watching the series. He has such a charisma... As for the characters, another cute guy is Ball. The way he looks so innocently. It just gets me, just as it gets Keam. Speaking of Keam.. What is up with this guy?! Like, he has a gf but constantly looks thirstily/with jealousy at Jin or Ball. What the heck? :D So does he have a loving gf or is he just pretending to have one? He's so cryptic. Jay and Song are so cute, especially Song. He's just a joker but seems to be also so soft and fluffy. Hope we will get some progression into their relationship. As for our main couple, I do like the series. Is it revolutionary? Heck no. Do I need every BL series to be extraordinarily revolutionary and different? No! Just make great characters with chemistry and a decent plot. I love how Jin is not hating Bom's attention but it seems he's afraid to commit to a true relationship (also, I can understand his inner conflict when he is suddenly being courted by a guy). Well, we shall see. I will watch this series to the end because I have literally no idea what is going to happen. And sometimes happens so little, but (interestingly enough) I am loving every second of it! (also, I love that Aim's new bf is a bit heavier! I love the diversity and it gives the series quite a realistic feel!)
