Hmm, it’s a simple, cliché drama; it’s not necessarily a bad drama, as some disappointed people say—it’s just a good drama.

Title Love beyond Dreams Spoiler
Honestly, out of the more than 600 dramas I’ve watched, this is one of the few times I strongly disagree with the opinions on this site. A masterpiece? One of the best series of the year? I find it absolutely crazy that people actually think that—though, to each their own. In my view, it started as a good drama but ended up being mediocre—or worse—at best. The time-travel premise is always interesting; I never expected much from it in a GL, but it was worse than I imagined. That plot point has absolutely no relevance to the story—it makes no difference whether it was a dream or reality. At first, I watched out of curiosity to see where the story would go, but the conclusion was disappointing, incredibly weak, and completely absurd. Her father trafficked arms and people, yet she fought him using her own armed militia—without any police involvement. For some reason, the protagonist is as strong as a well-trained soldier; people die and there are no repercussions—there are no realistic consequences in this drama whatsoever—and everything is wrapped up in a sloppy, poorly executed way. I’ve had to turn my brain off for dramas before, but this one is on the level of those low-budget mini-dramas with questionable scripts. I didn't expect that, given the great reviews and high rating; it really took me by surprise. That said, what somewhat saves this drama for me is the focus—the romance—though I have criticisms there, too. Contrary to what I read here, I don't think they were a great couple with amazing chemistry; far from it—they were just okay to me. I feel like people who only watch LGBTQ+ romance dramas struggle to understand what real chemistry is, simply because every drama in this genre is so hyper-sexualized. In my opinion, good chemistry is something you can show even without a kiss—a single look is enough; the rest is just a directorial choice. As for the chemistry between them in this drama, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't spectacular either; honestly, the relationship needed more time to develop. Regarding the acting, I thought almost everyone was great—that was the drama's strongest point for me. My only exception was the lead actress, Ran; she had some good moments, but at other times she made facial expressions that really took me out of the character. Her performance fell short compared to her co-stars. All in all, I find it to be a very average drama; I had expected more based on the opinions on this site.

Even though I like this drama, it really has a lot of flaws that were sometimes hard to overlook. The worst part for me was how they simply broke up in a totally unconvincing way, only to get back together after 10 years as if it had been just 10 months—like it was nothing. To make matters worse, the key issues surrounding the breakup are discussed off-screen between them. Another thing—not exactly a problem, and certainly not unique to this drama—is that I seem to be the only one bothered by how lately every Chinese drama is packed with moralizing and motivational speeches. I mean, I have nothing against it—just an observation—but I feel like this has become increasingly heavy-handed and tiresome in C-dramas.

I would believe it if someone told me she was Moon Ga-young's sister; they look very alike.

Honestly, it's not a masterpiece, but at least it deserved an 8, people on this site are very bitter.

I like this drama, but I'll never understand the absurd hype. This drama is still on the main page; I really don't understand where all this love for it comes from.

I just finished watching episode 26, I don't know what was worse for me, the protagonist's slowness in an urgent situation, or everyone's stupidity in adding 2 plus 2.

Honestly, some things were rushed, and they added an unnecessary, imaginary ending; they could have used that time better.

Okay so in the drama in the alternate ending they showed about 6-7 years of age difference in the leads as he…
No, they really do have an age difference. When they're drinking with the crown prince, there's talk about sending the protagonist to study, and at the same time, the female protagonist's father is talking to his friend about the protagonist's name, who is yet to be born.

A good romance drama with a couple who have great chemistry; the story itself is quite simple. Honestly, I don't understand why this drama has one of the highest ratings on this site, even though I love the actors.

I don't think it's an underrated drama, it's a good drama but nothing spectacular, an average of 8 points is perfect for it.
