Worth watching. The script and story arc are better than or comparable to many standard length dramas of similar nature. Very glad that both ML and FL are consistent & trust in their collaborations and not get misled or misguided like many other dramas. The ML looks very much like Hu Yitian but I think he looks better in historical attire than Hu Yitian.

Not surprised since I came across such inconsistencies in other Cdramas, some may not be a glaring missteps , happens only in Cdramas. They most likely won’t go back & re-film to make story runs more logically in sequence.

I thought so too about why the king seemed not to be well aware of CP’s love, esp ML had declared his feelings in front of everyone, the king, at the banquet & I think the issue is that dramas/movies are not filmed in chronological order. So, towards the end, where the king mandated a marriage between FL & CZ , these scenes could haven been filmed first, to be understood that the king is simply aware of the CP’s affection & nothing more, unlike the bold declaration made by ML in the earlier episode where the king was impressed by ML’s description of his love & respect for FL. (This should be under the screenwriters, director, producers’ purview. Sadly seen these scenarios in other Cdramas). Misguided, misdirected perhaps.

Luv how the light hit ML's face in the garden during the moon confession. He looked so ethereal, handsome and in love with the one in front of him. Also, when he was reminiscing with the Emperor about his younger days at the academy with FL and their subsequent separation, his sense of loss and sadness was heartfelt. Both moments were visually beautiful and emotionally resonant.

Dudu confessed to the Emperor 1st & it seemed he himself didn’t know how deep & far along his affection was until the Emperor enlightened him! 😂🤣
