Can’t wait for He Yan to deal with HRF.

Didn’t read the novel but I’m thoroughly enjoying the drama so far, especially all the fight scenes, FL fighting with different weapons. ML has always been suspicious/curious of FL as he deems there’s more to her backstory. He just did not connect her to HRF because the thought of HRF being female never crossed his mind until ep 22/23. I see He Yan as more approachable & relax by being more herself as she restarts her journey (& not the person she was expected to represent or carry the facade she’s grown up with who was more serious & disciplined). At beginning, she claimed several times she wanted to be herself, hence a rather different character of her former self.

Broken bridge is simply symbolic of their relationship at this point.

Wish it were just that but based on some sneaked stills of future epi & today 22/23, he’s super cunning, selfish, self-serving. When he’s usually cool & polite towards his master’s daughter, today he purposely gifted her something before his meeting with his master, knowing she might come & look for him if he’s with his master too long, hence saving his ass. He’s slowly burying ML’s reputation & causing trouble, ie to sow discontent among the subordinates of ML & sow discord between CP. He can’t outright complain about ML, so he’s very pretentious trying to be objective & supportive of him in front of the Emperor. Super manipulator. Preview of future episode showed even FL fell for his guise while previously she did not believe he was oblivious to his master misdeeds considering he’s his master’s top aid. She said that to his face.

Upto ep 19, despite the naysayers, both ML & FL characters continue to be strong, smart & well acted by the actors.

Sooo satisfying to see FL took revenge & killed Ding Yi & not wait towards end of drama for it to happen. This would undermine her evil stepbrother’s strength as well with 1 less close aid.

I just hope that it got resolved fast when the anger & misunderstandings about FL not coming to ML’s dad assistance which caused ML’s death is revealed by FL’s bro to purposely cause trouble for the couple.

Think key characters excl ML are rather rash, brass in general, despite supposedly being experienced & smart.

Quite rightfully so & yet claim not wanting any help from ML. Never think few steps ahead. Only sees whats in front.

Why can’t FL claim she killed Qiao Ping (in her own quarters) in self defence which is the truth??? He came with knife!!! Just like that FL caved! & she ended up in jail for killing a man!!! It boggles my mind the logic.

I cracked up at the landlord calling ML Princess Changping, bless him.

ML’s numerous attempts to talk & in different ways with his mum (like cook for his mum) to make her understand her unnatural & unhealthy way she’s controlled his life is extremely sad & exhausting . When he finally decided to stand up against his parents, especially his mum, his life took a sharp turn, upending his plan after so much effort & trauma throughout his growing years. ML is 17 years old, barely 18 when stuff happened. He may not be as mature as others as they live a more well rounded lives but he could also be feeling helpless, aimless while still trying to help., hence ending in the predicament he’s in on epi 18.

Nice coming of age Cdrama. Luv the CP & the Qunshan gang of 6 with a badass female leader.

You can try the Imperial Coroner, a period drama. My first WZQ's drama and he impressed me from thereon. There's going to be a sequel to Imperial Coroner.

I also share the same thought before the episodes dropped today. Only way to wrap up is for the Wen family to hand over some proof that ML is a spy in the Pei's fraction and not Pei's adopted son truly.

His medical condition was stablised, ie not deteriorating, critical at the moment but toxins still in his body. The imperial physician said it was difficult to remove the toxins because he was poisoned long ago, thus, difficult to assess what would happen, ie get better or may be worst in the future. He's advised to rest and recuperate while imperial physician would continue to treat him.

I'm so glad the 2 headed snake, He Wenshen got reported, demoted and punished. What a bitter narrowminded brat! FL didn't shame him when rejecting his marriage proposal. He could see it was secretly arranged by FL's dad without consulting her and yet he was so evil to set her up. He could simply not help her if he's still sore over the matter. Not worthy of being a magistrate or judiciary officer because he has no integrity and his judgement can be easily impaired.
