Your little brain wouldn't understand the mirroring used in part 2. You may not like it but even the cheesiest scenes in part 2 were more romantic than the scarce ones in part 1. Not everyone liked the low-humor in pt1, they made it lowkey in pt2 for obvious reasons and that worked fine for everyone.

There is no separation. Just because they aired in different times doesn't mean it's not the same work. The judges nominated the whole story. If it was poorly written the academy wouldn't give them a nomination.

Better romance, better humor, better lines, the characters had better synergy, scenes/lines are more memorable. The whole darker/more mature tone of part 2 is better.
