worth your time, WHOLESOME & REALISTIC, non cringe

This drama is totally underrated amongst the international viewers. At first I was confused as to why the title sounded japanese but the drama was chinese, did not realise it was an adaptation A GOOD ONE THOUGH AHH (most adaptations are a no for me). Many dramas that I've watched were mainly romance focused because I don't seem to get interested in non-romance dramas but this is just *chefs kiss* SO GOOD. I accidentally stumbled on it and have zero regrets! I usually can't stand dramas that are based around some type of activity e.g sports or cooking, because most make it dramatic and unrealistic, but I will have to say they did not dramatise "go" in a way where it is cringe. There was multiple satisfying character developments and you will just feel so moved as to how the characters change as if you were the one watching over them (sounds weird ik). What I did not expect was the tint of bromance, BUT I'LL TAKE IT. I highly rec this drama to anyone, I almost dropped the drama but stayed to see the protagonist grow, phew luckily I stayed or i might've missed out on this masterpiece. I am looking forward to each of the actors future works too, well going to wait patiently.

HOWEVER: HUGE SPOILER ALERT
THE ONLY ISSUE I HAVE WITH THE PLOT OVERALL is
Similar to others, I understood why Hong He wanted to quit playing Go, but I did not expect it to be forever? In the end nothing was shown much bout him. I expected for him to maybe have a few years break from Go then he would return to it after his family issue was sorted out, but nothing was cleared up. He was one of my favourite characters too which was SAD, LIKE WHY. I still wanted to know if he ended up with the girl or had a happy ending at least, I can't bare to imagine him having a sad ending, after knowing that he is the type of character that would act happy even though he is not. UGH

Was good at the beginning but went downhill

I was hooked into the drama on ep 1 and was intrigue, the plot was so good UNTIL things started to get messy with a ton of unnecessary twists. It got draggy and ruined the drama, I did not like how the fl was portrayed, her role was kinda useless after the timeskip, I don’t hate her as a character but she is just there, nothing important besides being the ml love interest. The cast did an amazing job at acting, would love to see more works from them. Would’ve given it a higher rating but the ending was lacklustre, just very unsatisfying, don’t waste your time watching it.

The best cdrama I’ve ever watched

We love to see a good thriller, mystery drama where romance is not hugely part of the plot. The cast was amazing, everyone did such a great job at acting, especially the villain (scared the heck out of me). This sort of plot where it involves timeloop is not easy at all to keep the audience interested/engaged BUT the writer(s) somehow managed to do it. This drama deserves nothing but praise, the quality is also fantastic. The two leads have such good chemistry and I would definitely support their future works. I love the FL, her personality is not too extreme. She is not the typical weak, naive airhead character or is not too unrealistically strong, she is in the middle. She is strong and smart but she is not savage (some dramas make fl just savage and call that empowerment, which looks stupid to me).

Perfect drama

The acting is superb, there were no actors that fell short in skills and the plot is very well thought out. The comedy is perfect for me, however, it is not just some funny drama, but also has suspense and tension between the villain and the fl. I love the couple so much, they are so cute together. Even the ost is good and the supporting characters bring great value to the drama. Their comedy isn't too over the top where it is cringey like most dramas are. Wish to see the leads do more future dramas together!

Nostalgic

The plot and message of the drama is very touching. Really encourages me to enjoy my youth more instead of worrying so much about the future. Most importantly, seeing the family slowly come together again is so heartwarming. Also the concept is funny and interesting, which is what got me into the drama in the first place. I mean the father becoming young again, experiencing school life. The entire cast did an amazing job portraying each of their character, and I love the comedy, it is not cringy or over the top. This is good if you don't want too much drama and messy plot and just want to relax a little after work

Not a perfect drama but is still good nonetheless

It is the type of drama you would watch for relaxation or after a day of pure tiredness, the comedy is not over the top like how some other dramas are and actually lifted my mood up. They realistically highlighted how easily our self-esteem can be damaged by the current standardised beauty expectations in the media and how it is not a piece of cake to just learn to love yourself. I love the actors and actresses in this drama, especially Shin Sung-rok with the way he portrayed a shy yet straightforward man that had a bunch of phobias. The character is iconic and is a whole mood. I really don't know how else I would expect a character like that to be portrayed in the drama, and there was not really a cast member that dragged the drama behind in terms of acting skills. There are some times where I cringed at Min Kyu's parts but I don't know if it's because of his character or acting, I'll need to watch more of his projects to know. The wholesome chemistry between the ml and fl kept me watching this drama and I would love to continue following their future projects!
