INTRESTING
Basically, this drama is quite good for it's genre. It focuses on the 'revenge'. But as the drama progresses it gives insight of many other things. It has a slow romance plot and if you're looking for a romantic drama this might be not the one. Still there are moments where you feel the connection between the leads even though the romance isn't strong. Loved how they portrayed the villain part. But felt like the backstory was a little bit lacking, yet didn't feel disappointed. The concept of family also really was up to the point. And the acting of the monsters and OMG! Lee joon's acting was just amazing. Idk I was really in need of a hot villain and this was it. Music is also good. The ending was what most people didn't like. But for me I expected the ending. Because most of the fantasy dramas-from Goblin to A Korean Odyssey had a similar type of ending. The finale of these types of drama is quite the same. And everything was neatly tied up.
But their are many cons in the drama. The ending kind of felt rushed or they just tried to fit most of the important parts to the final episode. But the ride was worth it. There are some plot holes and questions that still feels unanswered. Some of the episodes felt like filler because nothing important happened.
But overall loved how refreshing the plot is and how the leads grow on eachother. And how the drama unfolds, the mystery part is great.
This drama is NOT for everyone. Some will like it and some won't. If you're in for something refreshing and not the usual cliche's, I will totally recommend this. Go for it!

JUST GO FOR IT!
I would totally recommend this drama to anyone who loves a slow pacing drama. Eventhough it's not that slow as well. For me it's the perfect pacing. The characters portrayed are human I'd say. They have their own flaws. I love how they make mistakes and works through them. People make mistakes and the point is that what you do to correct them. A regular rom-com drama with a new setting. I love how they showed everyone and their past and perspectives. All of the actors did an amazing job. The musics were on point; in love with all the ost's. Some of the parts in the story need a little bit development. Some of the episodes felt rushed while others felt slow. Especially the last ones; somewhere it felt quite rushed. But still the closing was perfect. This is one of those drama you should go without expecting anything and love every bit of it. That's how it was for me.OKAY EVERYTHING WAS TOTALLY MY OPINION.

Big NO
Omg what was this!? First running of from marraige and meeting the ML was the only scene were i felt somewhat logical. The whole drama was just many plot devices to move on with the show. The first few episodes was enjoyable. When the FL asks ger friend/roommate to quit her job, she quits it just like that. I mean they just met a few days back.... And the gossiping community, ML fans (but in some moments were they supported him was good), the other lead just kidnapping the girls. And not to mention them being friends again because the ML protected him from his fans.I did not like the acting at all. Many moments felt childish and just rubbish. The bank ad moments were rediculous and out of nowhere.
Even after falling from clif both of them did not have any inguries. And even the breaking up part. Or after comfession part. The grandpa being sick and then magically gets better. FL rescuing ML from being married (I actually thought that was a dream). Even his mangement comany felt like a total fool to me.
And issues like sui©ide and toxic behaviour is taken in a light form. One moment k!lling youdself, next moment getting married. And the ML not liking how pretty the FL actually looked... And magically at the end everything is perfect and happy. Idk if that was actually happy? Like bith of them not choosing their careers. They could be still dating after going abroad for whatever they wanted.. I could just go on and on about these things.
I was actually looking forward to watch this because it had 'college' tag but no any college moment at all. I wanted to watch something cliche and light, just to spent my time and had hopes for this. Total wastage of potential: could have been a good one.

It's lovely.
I was debating on what my rating would be for this drama. So for most of the drama by the last episode, I get a fixed number to which i can confidently say that I enjoyed, but this one, this one was really off the hooks. So I have the moments when I didn't like some parts, And when randomly one friend just disappears altogether and then reappears once again. And the reason why this went down to 9 is because of QiQi I guess. Because the writers didn't have some kind of personality for her, tbh I didn't like her at first, but then she grew on me. And then again, she made something soo big for no much reason. And then again, she comes as some sweet-kind person, but then she says she is from different world(rich), and this happens alot, I think she would've been better if she was written well, like constant to her. but then again goes to say, this is not her true self and whatsoever. Also, one thing I would say as a charm for this drama would be how the friend group stays as different times, there are completely different people at college friend circle, then the school circle is also wholly different, which also is not constant. This is something totally different from all other dramas I watched where the circle stays same throughout their life, which is kinda unrealistic. So that part, was very realistic and quite refreshing to watch.
Also, I actually loved the characters personality, (well all except one which I'll just ignore), I think all of them had there own charms, their own personality and something that made them likable. All characters (even the ML's senior who ended up working) had their values and endings.
I totally loved how this drama could merge everything, family, friends, crush, first love, first breakup, relationship, career everything and have a beautiful output. This show incorporated every aspect of growing up and showed it beautifully.
And A very big applause to the FL and ML, both where very great characters and just perfect for each other.

Refreshing
I really enjoyed the drama. The ML here is my personal favourite type of men. Not the arrogant one but the cute and easygoing one. I really love his personality. The story is refreshing and very likable. From the comedy elements to the dipressing ones, everything was neatly put out. I loved the family and the friends dynamics. Personally the college moments is my fav. A flawed SML whom I just wanted to kick out of the screen many times. Though the story has many flaws. And felt the need to tie up some endings properly/ why it happened in the first place. There was lack of explanation or motive. But both the ML and FL makes up for those parts with there characters. Was this review helpful to you?
You would never forget it.
okay honestly I was debating on whether to give 8.5 or 9 for the rating but decided on 9 because of how hot ML is. I mean just the glasses get the .5 rating. I love the hairstyle and the suits.( I am talking of their past lives not present. )The storyline is amazing and really one of a kind BUT, it could have been portrayed better. Something fell clumsy and unordered while watching the whole thing. I just bing watched the whole thing in 1 and half days. The script and story was good but the way in which it was told was kinda flat. And I personally felt there could have been more past life scenes.
Casting/acting/music idc everything was just top-notch. And that just one kiss scene (iykyk).
As someone who loved Mr Sunshine and hoped for the same here(I know nothing could be that level), Chicago typewriter didn't actually meet my expectations. I had hopes for this one, but yea couldn't meet the bar set by Mr Sunshine I guess.
Without comparing or just pulling off any expectations I would have loved it. Chicago typewriter has its own charms and characters I'll always keep in my heart. Just the thing that it felt slow in their present lives and I just wanted to see their whole past life. I guess that's what made this drama a bit draggy for me.
Apart from all of that, I think everyone should watch it and decide if it's worth their time or not. It's captivating to pull you enough and make you watch the whole thing.

If you love the genre you go for it or maybe if you're curious of what happened just watch the last 2 eps. Everything is there. Also a small dumb FL alert.

THE ULTIMATE FEELS
It's been too long that I enjoyed a drama as this much. I feel too much for this. AND I AM WATCHING THIS IN THE YEAR OF 2026, FOURTEEN YEARS AFTER IT HAS AIRED.First of all a FUCKIN BADASS female lead. I really loved how she stayed till the end. She was consistent throughout.(well except the fact that she was a little off written in first some episodes- like how she just trusts Lee Jae Ha very easily and is kinda easily manipulatable for a North Korean SPECIAL FORCE CAPTIAN?). But ma girl came through, even till the last episode where she was ready to shoot him and planning an escape while kidnapped. SHE IS A DIVA AND THATS THE END OF DISCUSSION.PERIOD.
Now, to our king- I mean Yea Comrade Lee, he was very much irritable at first. OMG, I just wished to smash his head onto a wall at times. -ALSO YOU DON'T FUCKIN PLAY WITH ONES EMOTIONS AND FEELING, YOU PRICK. Okay ignoring the initial him, the latter him was chef's kiss. He has an insane character development and I'm here for it. BUT also, he felt off written at times- like he was said to be someone with great IQ and all, but he acted very childish sometimes. I think I kinda expected more from him, but yeahh whatever he was, he was realestic and great.
Talking of the story- I didn't even know a 20 episode drama could end this easily. Personally, this drama did NOT drag at any parts. It was THE perfect pace for me. It wasn't rushed nor was it lagged. The story unfolded in the way I loved. I loved how characters developed over time. And mostly the VILLIAN. First time in history I'm seeing a villain with an actual brain. Also, special mention to his torture methods, because that is as realistic as things can get. What I felt this drama had difference compared to others was in the 19th episode, I mean after catching John Mayar, the story actually continued. My boy, I totally didn't expect it because in dramas usually that would be the last episode and everything is good and happy, bye bye. But here, it showed his influence after he was arrested- because he had the money AND power. He was bailed out- yeahh that is realistic and I loved the drama for it.
Now, moving on to why this wen from 10 to 9.5 -*SPOLIER**SPOLIER* THE DEATH OF CAPTAIN EUN. Yeah, I am soo very disappointed because of his death. I wanted him to be happy. I wanted him to live. He had endured through that much trauma just to die?? No, bro you didn't deserve that death, idc you shoud've been alive and become the princess's bf. That was a shitty AF move and I HATE THAT. Also sometimes someone dying is okay, like the former king and queen who just died.. but the problem was the Eun Shi Gyun dying was totally unnecessary and I stand by it. Yeah, and also because of some inconsistency I felt both for the king's and Hang Ah's character in the beginning, that's the only reason we went down .5 .
And finally just wanted to say this drama for me had the perfect amount of all mixes for me, romance, comedy, politics, king x officer, princess x bodyguard. And, the realism as well - how Asians are treated on a global level, the racial discrimination, the political imbalance, historical differences for ally's of different countries and all also resonated deeply with me. To me, it was written well and with great consideration. But, I am not very literate on history between countries so idk how much of it was actually correct.
