I am mainly celebrating that FL is fully following through with her revenge . typically we get noble actions or muddleheaded FLs prioritize romance instead. I just hope the ending is gonna be satisfying because this has the potential of being one of my TOP TOP cdramas

You are right in the sense that many things in this show have no explanation or poor execution. it is far from a perfect show. I was similirily frustrated with the ventriloquism scene. But I gave this show 10/10 nonetheless because I enjoy it immensly. I wake up everyday looking forward to a new episode and this kind of anticipation means that emotionally I am fully invested in the story. it varies from show to show, but I notice from my rating patterns with these kinda show (meaning historical romances) that I mainly rate based on the FL character , the acting and my emotional connexion to the story. so yeah in a very subjective way.

this. I am not skipping ANY scene here. the supporting cast is brilliant and their stories are also fascinating . The stepmom and the ex have provided standout performances tbh.

I actually shed a tear when Jiang Li screamed after Tong er 's lifeless body. usually I'm pretty immune to such scenes. it's a testament to FL's acting.
I keep comparing her to many other FLs in similar roles who are more concerned about their pretty angles and her acting talent is just one of the rare best.
glad to have been introduced to her in this show and will keep an eye on her future work.
