we must be watching radically different shows. cuz violent? xie wei hasn't even held a sword in his second life. only outburst of violence he had was when he thought FL overheard about his treasonous discussion with his palace insider. and even in that scene he wasnt expecting it to be her. He is a scholar and uses his mind more than his fists. also his ideas are fairly progressive . his ideas about women education are alone enough to make me root for him and are obviously not in line with macho arrogant MLs we got for decades. We haven't all read the novel. People are falling in love with the Xie wei they have watched for 16 episodes. Maybe that changes in the next episodes when we see more of him. he is handsome but zhang zhe is too. so to say that's the reason is weird.
