is this any good? how is FL's personality?

I rarely enjoy moderns but it has been a bad few months for costume drama and I had nothing I liked and gave this a shot. I am at ep 6 and OMG this is a VERY good show.
concept is good , VERY funny, incredible acting
Show has a lot to say without feeling preachy or anything . . And most importantly both FL and ML have actual personalities.

I can never hate on Sheng Yi. her character is true to the period and sadly to some places in the world even today.

Since this started , i found myself always watching MM episodes first because they were more exciting, I was more invested in the story while the pace of this one was a bit off to me at first that I found myself delaying watching the episodes.
well , in the last days it had been a complete reversal. I can't wait for the next batch of peony now.
I still am enjoying MM and it's apples and oranges but this one has affected me deeply on emotional level and the dialogue is masterfully written.

I just love that however rigged the system is against her she still finds it in herself to be kind. that and her resolute personality is what saves her time and time again.

I heard today is particularly tough episode. i'll wait for tomorrow to watch both 😭

After putting this off because of the initial bad subtitles, I finally got around and I just finished watching ep 2 and omg 10/10!!!!!
I hope she divorces him soon I can't look at his face on my screen romancing that snobby princess much longer.
Please tell me FL kicks ass and take revenge on her in-laws.

I am starting to like SML but I really don't want him to end up with SFL. that would means she will need to stop being bad . like we are literally talking about killing 999 people of each race and she is like yeah no problem. how do you go back from that?

I love the FL and the ML, the show is so much fun. I am taking a huge risk here because I know that there is 90% that I might hate the ending (usually the case with this genre). But they are just too cute 😭
I never skip anything except scenes with SML and SFL. I just can't stomach their relationship.

I don't know if I'll come to regret watching this by the end as is often the case with xianxia for me. But so far I am liking it. and FL rocks.
