hmm the vibe between the leads was more romantic in season 2 so we were hoping for a bit of development here (not the focus but bits and pieces of moments) but the vibe is more familial and sibling energy which is disappointing considering the previous flirting fit them more. either stick to the romantic route or friendship but the switch up makes it look wishy washy, otherwise everything else is great!

he's been helping her fight against the executive's husband (he's the assaulter) and the exec knows it too so she let the rumours spread that it was him cheating to cover her husband's tracks. now the victim couldn't take it the pushback so she's apologising for involving him. he's trying to take the heat so his wife doesn't get fired as well so he's letting himself be misunderstood (also why he didn't want her trying for his spot back cz of the backlash of his whistleblowing) . he obviously still loves his wife, i hope he doesn't let the misunderstanding fester for long so she can help him
pride is humanity's worst sin. she can't even confront feng rui cz the idea that he wasn't in on it with her mother is not worth entertaining. Again, she asks the mother whether feng rui knew, and again she misunderstood. the same with the ml, he only takes info from his mother and doesn't dare to ask the fl or even insult her to her face cz his pride is wounded and believes his mother fully (although she never hid her manipulative/controlling personality, so never being doubtful is on him). normally someone abandons you, u'd insult them or speak harshly and not this weird indifferent vibe that causes misunderstandings on both sides. just say the words so she can say "what the hell are you talking about" so u can communicate!! ugh i hate how it has to be her who says "liar" for him to start questioning things- so freaking vague and too late! 12 years? does it make sense for someone so infatuated and clearly not over it to only start uncovering the truth now? for the fl to say he never called it means she didnt change her number and considering this is the 21st century, there is no way he never found her for so long (the mother is not all powerful to control all that). her friend totally had a hand in this (most probably thinking he'll just hurt her when she needs time to heal her kid's death) she looked like she was hiding something-especially when she said the kid might've been better off with the ml's family (it was to alleviate her guilt and not the fl).

no it's not justification but an explanation to her actions cz to us we see it as a red flag but to her she is just realistically in her own world which the 2ml can clearly see so to expect any meaning behind her actions when she clearly stated he is a younger brother to her is just him living in his own delusions. if he wants her to notice him then he needs to confess otherwise she'll continue to treat him as a brother. she's not psychic. whether it's a man or woman, if words are not said, then it becomes a guessing game as to what each person's actions mean; she's currently playing that game with her ex so the 2ml is not on her radar till he puts himself on the playing feild but honestly even then he has zero chances and the blame can't be put on her cz she's not obligated to accept him

it's true what you said but with this lead it's a bit different for her cz in her mind it's just ml, her dad, the trauma of losing her child, her career and so much that it's almost impossible for her to notice the feelings projected by someone like a younger brother figure. call it selfish but she's too preoccupied and wouldn't even cross her mind cz why would he like her? she came back for someone else who fathered her child and has a past with so the idea that she is a romantic option for someone else let alone a guy who should view her as a sister would never cross her mind. so she's not using his feelings, she's just treating him like a brother (there are kind brothers who do what he does so it's not sus enough for her to realize unless he confesses), not her fault he goes above and beyond for her cz he has feelings and not cz he's a good brother. she's not that emotionally perceptive at the moment (easier for us and his family to notice his feelings as third parties but as the person receiving those feelings, it's not)

i have a feeling there is more to her dislike of the FL, the trailer mentioned a rapist in the ml's family and a dark connection so it might not be the full story given yet. cz i still can't believe both the leads trusted the mother's word and didn't look for one another afterwards. like who just leaves cz their child died and not inform the father? it was a relationship and not a one night stand so why leave. something else must be there and the ml not contacting her once when even 12 years later he still has feelings? was he never curious about why she left? she never showed signs of flaking or disliking the child.

hmm the trailer showed him confronting his mother and getting slapped. also he was the one who suggested to get back together so i guess it must've been after confronting his mother and finding out the truth. the other trailer shows him being a simp and madly in love with the fl so i guess it worked out but almost zero scenes with the child as a family which is weird cz if they make their romance too much of a priority and not address the child's trauma as an abandoned child later on (even if it was a lie) it'll just be an unrealistic drama so i hope the trailer just missed that.
this drama has more dialogue than action and the action is kinda subpar for a chinese drama; the good guys feel too weak, especially their ace (mad blade) (expect the fight scene between her and the ml). I truly hope the hunters up their game cz this is kinda sad. considering the amount of children being trained in the flashbacks i expected more hunters but why is the gap in power so huge? it all can't ride on the FL and her future hubby right? she hasn't been in the game much and the experienced one is in the hospital after one fight and they have a senior hunter still active after a serious leg problem (this is a monster battle so he'll be the first to die like this) and other members hiding an enemy in the backyard. is the novel a happy ending? usually such settings end in open endings or one of the leads transforming hence a sad ending cz they need to go their separate ways. Also i get the feeling the 2nd lead is going a dark direction raising a fiend as a pet
honestly this can't be anything but a happy ending cz the sacrifice play that usually happens at the end already played out at the start so a sad ending would be pointless and not as satisfying for these characters' journies but i would like to see how she starts meshing with her old life again with her currect change. it seems the nightmares might be the key to her accessing her past and the switch is helpful for the prince's advancement to wise leadership with a competent queen by his side. i don;t think it's a conditional switch tho but the type that will resolve once all regrets are gone and memories return so this'll be fun!
i would rather the story be about the 2nd leads instead. they're more interesting and WAY HEALTHIER . the FL is what we call a toxic yandere. says one thing but means another as to not hurt herself but who the hell cares if others are hurt. then says they're toxic to one another for fighting. U'RE THE PROBLEM. he only fights cz that's her love language showing someone cares if they endure being her punching bag. which is why she needs to actually date someone completely different to see that no one can tolerate her thought process but the ML and she doesn't enjoy it otherwise. ok the pain of losing someone is a big thing for her and knowing the ML's life is in america is making her push him further but saying he belongs there after repeatedly showing her she is his home is just plain cruel at this point. he came back the moment he read her final statement cz she said she was waiting for him and that's not proof enough? he agreed to a deadline for his stay when he doesn't want to leave and is happy she can use it as an excuse to not get attached to him so she won't be hurt again and YET IS MAD when he might leave earlier? T.H.E.R.A.P.Y also the lawyer is either doing this as a scheme to get the leads out of their frozen romantic status or he needs therapy too cz no way would he walk into this knowing how messy it'll get (he's way too observant not to notice the leads' deep connection and no way can she develop feelings deep enough towards him to forget the ML)
i figured out the problem, it's the small changes in the first and 2nd episode in the dialogue that ruined the start of the show. the manga had a smoother pace cz the turn of events made sense cz the dialogue wasn't cut while the drama thought it not essential leading to the weird fast paced start. can't really explain what was removed cz it was subtle but it changed the vibe u get from the fl atleast (her actions made her seem easy in the drama but it wasn't like that in the manga) and the ML's actions in not getting mad for saying to meet at her house after just having met was explained more in the manga by his friend so them switching small events' orders ruined the pace . anyways if the manga start was adapted exactly the same then this drama would've been a better hit which is unfortunate cz the rest was well done
ok had his guard died i would've said the 2FL had no way of escaping the ML's revenge at the end but at least she still has a slight chance of surviving the final battle with her love if he manages to knock some sense into her in the next few eps. i hope he doesn't try to save her by getting roped into her plans instead and ends up as the cliche dead traitor since it's more of a romcom than a bloodbath
