Lol what exactly were people expecting?? For him to find Minji in E5?? Then what?? The drama ends right there?? Pack it up, wrap it up and roll the credits?? 😂
We havent even reached the main villain yet and people are already losing their minds. From the ML's perspective, he needs something significant at stake to push him into going all out against the main villain. Minji is that stake. Apart from getting hit with a brick by teenage daughter of villain they need a much stronger reason for the ML to finish the villain. Kidnapping and torturing Minji gives the ML a much stronger emotional reason to stop holding back and finish the villain once and for all.
Otherwise, imagine if he rescued his daughter in E5. Considering his forgiving personality, there is a good chance he and Minji would simply forgive the villain & his daughter or settle things peacefully. Then what?? The entire conflict would be resolved before the story even reaches its climax.
And for god's sake, this is an exaggerated action manhwa adaptation. If you are going to judge it using strict real world logic then the entire series falls apart from E1. None of the fight scenes are realistic, they are intentionally over the top, with one person taking on 10, 20 or even 50 opponents. Thats the genre.
The same applies to most action kdramas, whether its Study Group, Weak Hero Class 1 or even Teach You a Lesson. They all sacrifice realism to some extent because the focus is on stylish action, entertainment and excitement. So bringing up arguments like "he is a top class agent so this shouldnt happen" completely misses the point of the genre.
E5 was absolute cinema. It was the best episode so far and truly felt like a larger than life cinematic experience.
The action sequences in this drama are amazing but i have to say the emotional core of the series is even stronger. In fact, it surpasses what the action has to offer. Whether its the father daughter moments or No. 66's scenes with the ML, the emotions really hit hard. E5's highlight was definitely Ok Taecyeon's (No. 66) scenes with the ML. Their emotional moments were heartbreaking and tragic.
Even the preview was super exciting and it feels like E6 will be even better than E5 itself.
hoping this one also has a good story with good viewership 🙏 i won’t expect too much, but the thought of…
I think the viewership will be in the 4-8% range. It wont be as high as Reborn Rookie because that drama falls into a more niche category, unlike Reborn Rookie, which had revenge and makjang at its core making it more appealing to a wider audience.
But nonetheless, im pretty sure the content will be top quality. This year, hardly any tvN weekend drama has disappointed me in terms of quality, except Mad Concrete Dreams. So regardless of the ratings, im sure i will enjoy it.
Im also happy for LJY that he finally got the recognition he has long deserved with the success of Reborn Rookie. Now i just want to see him in lead roles in big dramas going forward (ofcourse, after his military service lol).
Lee Junyoung is coming back to our screens again just a month later!! I cant wait for his next tvN weekend drama, Four Hands. We will meet again there.
Im pretty sure this series is going to be another top notch one. Bromance is one of my favorite genres and i cant wait to see Lee Junyoung and Song Kang together. Their chemistry is going to be amazing.
Reborn Rookie | E12 | Finale | TV RatingsNationwide: 13.568%Seoul: 13.498%Yay!! Reborn Rookie wrapped up its run…
Fyi JTBC's 7th highest is king the land with 13.789% and 8th highest is Take of Lady Ok with13.575% so reborn rookie was very close to become 7th or 8th highest of JTBC.
and it shares no.3 overall (in 2026) position with The Judge Returns who have 13.6% ratings and 2nd highest is perfect crown with 13.8%.
Yay!! Reborn Rookie wrapped up its run with an impressive 13.568% finale ratings, making it the No.3 highest rated drama overall (in 2026), the highest rated JTBC drama of 2026 and the No.9 highest rated JTBC drama of all time. Its also the first JTBC drama in the last 1.5 yrs to surpass the double digit mark. Congrats to the entire cast and crew on this well deserved success!! 🎉🔥
One of my favorite scenes in the finale was when Chairman Kang kept pleading with Jae Gyeong to stop and come back but she refused. Even until very last moment, he deeply loved and cared for her. He was even willing to sacrifice his own life to save her despite everything she had done.
I really loved the unique dynamic between the protagonist and the antagonist. Instead of the usual enemies who hate each other, this story made the protagonist the father and the antagonist his own daughter. No matter what she did, he never stopped caring for her. He simply wanted her to return to the right path. He had finally realized his own mistakes and deeply regretted the way his children had turned out. Thats what made this revenge story feel so different from the others.
Also, that ending scene was absolutely hilarious. Hwang Jun Hyeon somehow ended up swapping souls with random lady again. It was such a fun and unexpected way to wrap up the drama.
Where did you guys watch the last ep so fast i checked on pissph it shows 3hrs wait time and i can't wait to watch…
Well, the episode hasnt even aired in south korea yet, so there is still time. It will be released in about 3 hrs, around 00:15-00:30 KST. Just convert that to your local time and watch it once the episode is out.
Song Weilong is back with yet another shitty parent and this time his father is 10 times worse than his mother in Go Ahead 🤣🤣.
Atp, the only one capable of breaking the record for Song Weilong's worst onscreen parent is.... another one of Song Weilong's onscreen parents. His own drama parents are competing with each other to see who can traumatize him the most 😂😂.
That last scene of E11 gave me goosebumps. Real chairman kang have such solid aura. And i loved the way Jae Gyeong starts trembling after seeing him lol.
Im really loving how maturely they are handling the breakup of FL with her ex. There are interactions between the leads but they havent fallen for each other yet and i like that the drama is giving the FL's breakup with her ex enough room to breathe instead of rushing straight into a new romance.
I also loved how they portrayed her breakup. Throughout the first three eps, they showed several flashbacks of her relationship and even the breakup itself was quite emotional. All of that helps you understand the FL's character much better and makes it easier for the audience to connect with her. Because of that, it feels completely natural that, even though she and ML are interacting, neither of them is rushing into catching feelings. They are allowing her to properly move on before starting a new relationship and i really like that approach.
Im also enjoying the office and business side of the drama. The team's current project is developing crystal clear spherical ice cubes and if im not wrong, this storyline seems to be inspired by the real life samsung vs LG rivalry to create the first crystal clear spherical ice maker.
Its actually fascinating concept. Crystal clear spherical ice cubes are highly valued especially in bars and high end restaurants because their spherical shape has less surface area relative to its volume so they melt much more slowly than regular ice cubes. That keeps drinks cold for longer without watering them down too quickly.
And science behind making them is interesting too. To achieve perfectly clear ice, the water has to freeze very slowly. If it freezes too quickly, dissolved gases and tiny air bubbles get trapped inside making the ice look cloudy. Thats why these specialized machines carefully control the freezing process sometimes even using low heating along with cooling to ensure the ice freezes gradually from one direction, allowing impurities and air to escape. I really love how this drama incorporates these kinds of real world business and engineering details instead of making the office scenes feel generic.
