Why tf is JeongPio’s story so fking sad.... Its only 4 eps in and im already feeling so sad for them. There were many scenes in E4 that made me feel so sad for them and actually got me emotional and teary eyed. I wasnt expecting their story to hit this hard.

One possibility is that he injured his hand while playing the piano but still continued performing because he needed to win the competition in order to save Jeong Yo. Another possibility is that, after finding out that Jeong Yo had been kidnapped by his mom and teacher, he completely lost control and punched a wall, injuring his hand. He then went on stage and played the piano despite the injury because winning was the only way he could save Jeong Yo.

Try Jeongnyeon, masterpiece drama.

I think teacher Do Hyeon su is Pi O's real dad.

Edit : Now after this theory about Pio's dad, i have another theory lol.

I think during the Prague competition (2017), grandpa might have told Pio’s mom that he would only accept Pio as his grandson if Pio won the competition. Desperate to make that happen, she first pleaded with Teacher Do Hyun Soo to somehow stop Jeong Yo from participating. But since Teacher seems like a genuinely good person, he refused to do it. Thats when she might have finally revealed to him that Pio is his son and told him that he needed to help Pio win the competition.

She then blackmailed teacher into kidnapping Jeong Yo. And honestly, teacher would have been the perfect person to involve because he was the one handling Pio and Jeong Yo’s competition schedule, their arrival in Prague and basically everything related to their participation. So, he could have easily arranged for Jeong Yo to be kidnapped with the help of some local men.

Then everything went horribly wrong. Jeong Yo ended up getting shot/killed or at least thats what everyone believed at the time. Meanwhile, Pio’s mother could have blackmailed Pio into performing and winning the competition in exchange for Jeong Yo’s safety. That would also explain why Pio kept performing even when his hands were literally covered in his own blood, he believed Jeong Yo’s life depended on him winning.

But despite doing everything they asked, Pio still ended up losing Jeong Yo. And that could explain why he has carried so much guilt and trauma ever since.

So the core of my theory is still the same, but with the new theory about Pio’s birth father, i feel like the pieces fit together even better now. If Grandpa really was the one putting pressure on Pio’s mom to make Pio prove himself, then her desperation to ensure his victory and everything she might have done to make that happen, suddenly makes a lot more sense.

Girl is mentioned as lead cast but she is not main character, main characters are two MLs here, it's their own story, lead girl is just supposed to be love interest of one of ML nd that's it so there was no need for her to be their in promotional media like posters or trailers as she is not main character of the story.

Personally, I feel like it’s completely up to the viewers how they choose to interpret their relationship. Some people might see it as a deep friendship, some might see it as bromance, while others might interpret it as deep love or romantic feelings in a BL sense. The drama itself never really defines their relationship in one specific way and i think thats intentional. It leaves enough room for different interpretations, so i dont think anyone is necessarily wrong for seeing them as a romantic pair either. The way some of their scenes are written, directed and portrayed can definitely give BL/romantic vibes to certain viewers, just as other viewers might see it purely as an intense friendship or bromance.

What actually bothers me is how some people refuse to accept interpretations that differ from their own. You have some BL fans saying the drama is queerbaiting, others questioning why there is even an FL, while some homophobic viewers complain about the BL vibes and say it should just be a straight drama. And honestly, all of that is unnecessary.

Their relationship is open to interpretation and that should apply to everyone. If one person sees their bond as friendship, another sees it as bromance and someone else sees romantic love between them, none of them are necessarily wrong because the drama hasnt explicitly defined their relationship for us. You can have your own interpretation without invalidating someone else’s. Thats what frustrates me the most, people are perfectly happy with their own interpretation but the moment someone else interprets the same relationship differently, they start complaining about it instead of simply accepting that the drama allows for multiple readings.

Personally, im just loving them as a pair without putting any label on their relationship. I want them to end up together by the end and thats it. Whatever moments the drama gives us between them, im loving every single one of them.

Song Kang in Navillera and Four Hands is a whole different level. Give me him in art/music/dance focused roles over his romance dramas any day >>>>>>>>>>

Yes, they are all veterans and honestly, this is one of the strongest and most expensive supporting casts they could have assembled for this drama. If you look at the filmographies of all four major supporting characters from Pi O’s mother and grandfather to the director and teacher, they have all been involved in numerous high quality projects and are highly respected for their acting. And they have even delivered performances in their previous works that are stronger than those of the main cast.

Thats why even i also felt OP’s criticism of their acting was a bit excessive. They are clearly experienced actors who know exactly what they are doing and they have been doing a great job here too. They are providing that much needed makjangish family drama element, somewhat reminiscent of skycastle but in a much more subtle and restrained way. Their performances actually add a lot to the tension and family dynamics so i really dont have any complaints about them.

Ofcourse, acting is subjective, so maybe their particular style just isnt OP’s cup of tea.

Well, read my original comment (theory). My theory is that Pi O finds out about Jeong Yo’s kidnapping and then either his grandpa or his mom forces him to perform in exchange for Jeong Yo’s safety. That could explain why Pi O continues performing even though his hands are literally soaked in his own blood while he is playing. He is enduring all of that because he believes performing is the only way to keep Jeong Yo safe.

But things still go horribly wrong and Jeong Yo ends up getting shot by the kidnappers. Pi O is then left believing that Jeong Yo has died, which causes him to fall into immense guilt and trauma. That could be what leads to everything we see after the time skip. So, this might be the pre time skip storyline.

I dont think the kidnapping has anything to do with his past illegal activities because, honestly, that would make the whole situation feel like a much weaker plot point. Plus, they are in prague so i dont see why korean thugs would go all the way there or hire people locally just to kidnap Jeong Yo.

I have a feeling his kidnapping is actually going to be connected to Pi O's family. They are wealthy and would have no problem hiring people in prague to do it. More importantly, they have a clear motive to get rid of Jeong Yo and that's Pi O himself. If they see Jeong Yo as someone who is getting in the way of Pi O's future or career, kidnapping him would actually make much more sense from a story perspective.

Well, the director is kinda giving me shady vibes. She seems perfectly fine for now, but i still cant shake the feeling that there is something suspicious about her. The teacher, on the other hand, seems like a genuinely good guy but i have a feeling one of them might eventually turn out to be involved in something bad. So honestly, you never know.

As for Jeong Yo coming back as a successful pianist, even while i was writing that theory, i felt like it didnt completely make sense, especially considering the question of how Pi O could possibly not know about him. So i still have a couple of other theories about how Jeong Yo could return.

One possibility is that Jeong Yo eventually quit playing the piano and built a successful life for himself in a completely different field. Meanwhile, Pi O becomes the successful pianist instead. But despite his success, Pi O is still haunted by his past. He continues to feel guilty about what happened to Jeong Yo and keeps having nightmares about him every now and then, so he never really gets over what happened.

The second possibility is that Jeong Yo actually becomes a successful pianist overseas but under a completely new identity, maybe even an English name so Pi O has no idea that he’s still alive. Meanwhile, Pi O, consumed by guilt over Jeong Yo, completely quits playing the piano. Then Jeong Yo eventually comes back into his life, which could be the reason Pi O starts playing again.

And honestly, with either version it will give us so much angst. They could slowly reunite, uncover what actually happened to Jeong Yo, try to identify the real culprit and eventually come back together after all that pain and misunderstanding. I can already see the potential for the angst + romance + soulmate/bromance storyline here.

Ok, so i have a possible theory about what those first two intro scenes from E1 and 2 actually mean....

During the major piano competition in Prague in 2017, i think Pi O and Jeong Yo were either supposed to compete against each other or possibly perform four hands together. But one of the major supporting characters (either Pi O’s mother or his grandpa) wanted Pi O to be the one who stood out and won at all costs.

So, with the help of Pi O’s step grandma and Mr. Do, they kidnapped Jeong Yo on his way to the competition. They then pressured Pi O into participating and winning the competition in exchange for Jeong Yo’s safety.

Pi O did exactly that and won the competition but meanwhile, something went horribly wrong. Jeong Yo was somehow shot by his kidnappers and everyone ended up believing that he had died.

I think Pi O has been carrying that trauma and guilt ever since. He keeps having nightmares (intro scene of E2) about Jeong Yo and probably blames himself for what happened because, in his mind, Jeong Yo’s safety was the price of his victory. Even though Pi O didn't actually cause any of it, he probably still feels like he failed Jeong Yo and believes that he is somehow responsible for his death.

Then we jump to 2026, when Jeong Yo suddenly comes back as a successful pianist. And i have a feeling that Jeong Yo might actually believe that Pi O was involved in his kidnapping or even knew what was going to happen to him. Meanwhile, Pi O is obviously shocked and happy to discover that Jeong Yo is actually alive but at the same time, all that guilt and trauma from 2017 would come rushing back.

So im expecting a lot of angst between them in the present day storyline.  But eventually, i think Jeong Yo will discover that Pi O was completely innocent and that he was also being manipulated by the actual culprit. Once he learns the truth, Jeong Yo might be the one who helps Pi O finally let go of all that guilt and trauma.

And then, in the end, they will probably expose the real culprit, get their revenge/justice and finally reconcile with each other.

And then maybe the drama will end with Pi O and Jeong Yo finally playing four hands together again but this time, without all the pain and guilt hanging over them. Just the two of them happily playing, laughing and enjoying being together. 

Anyway, this is just my theory based on those first two intro scenes but if this is actually where the story is heading.... Then im seated for the angst, romance bromance whatever the writer is gonna throw at us.

If anyone is wondering whether there is a love triangle in this drama, the answer is NO. Lee Junyoung confirmed in one of his interviews that there is no love triangle.

The romance will be between Jang Gyuri and Song Kang but the major focus will be on Song Kang and Lee Junyoung’s characters, their relationship and how their story develops as they are the main characters here.

Hope this helps anyone who was wondering whether there is going to be a love triangle or not.

There is no love triangle, Lee Junyoung had confirmed it in one of interview.

Jang Gyuri will have romance with Song Kang but there is no angle betn her and Lee Junyoung.

Oh god, the chemistry, romance, and angst in E2 were seriously OFF THE CHARTS🔥. Bi O & Jeong Yo have already become my fav couple of the year. I honestly cant remember the last time, when i wanted two characters to end up together this badly just after 2 episodes. Im already way too invested in them. 

I absolutely love whatever this relationship between Bi O & Jeong Yo is. The bromance, romance, soulmate like connection…. i dont even know what to call it but im loving every second of it. And honestly, i dont think they even need a label. There is something so special about the way they connect and understand each other.

What i especially love is how Bi O has already started noticing Jeong Yo’s struggles and quietly trying to help him, even though they barely interacted with each other. First, he helped save Jeong Yo from getting suspended and then he figured out his fear of playing the piano in front of other people and found a way to help him overcome it. He is slowly getting to understand Jeong Yo without even needing him to explain everything.

And then there is Jeong Yo, who still doesnt know what Bi O is going through but you can already see how much he cares about him. The way he immediately saved Bi O from getting hurt by the broken glass and then treated his injury in the medical room…. He may not know about Bi O’s personal struggles yet but he is already worried about him. Im pretty sure that once Jeong Yo eventually learns Bi O’s backstory, he is going to be the person who stands by him, supports him and helps him heal.

And this episode had so many heart fluttering moments. My absolute favorite has to be their candlelit four hands piano scene which looked like nothing less than their first date. The whole atmosphere, the closeness, the chemistry…. everything. And then Bi O helping Jeong Yo work through his fear of playing piano in front of an audience was just so beautiful. It wasnt only about the piano, it felt like Bi O was slowly helping him overcome something that had been holding him back for so long.

And honestly, Song Kang and Lee Junyoung are both doing such a fabulous job. Ngl, Lee JunYoung is always a standout when it comes to acting but Song Kang is really holding his own here. That very first scene in E2, where Bi O wakes up from the nightmare, was already proof of how much he is bringing to the character. You could feel the pain and fear without him even saying much.

I seriously cannot wait for the next episodes now. Next week, come soon!!

So true. I have been noticing this change since covid. We probably dont realize how much things have changed because we have gradually gotten used to the new normal but when you actually compare the pre Covid era with the post covid era, the difference feels enormous. And i dont think its just about people’s behavior or personalities, it feels like society as a whole has changed in so many ways.

Some people might argue that its because of the internet boom, social media and people becoming more opinionated and aware of whats happening around them. Maybe thats part of it but i cant really pinpoint one specific reason. There is just this feeling that people have become much more reactive, divided, entitled and eager to fight over everything.

Sometimes i even wonder if the system itself benefits from keeping people constantly distracted, angry and divided because the more we fight among ourselves, the less we actually question the bigger picture, and there is always someone making money from that chaos. Im not saying this is necessarily the correct explanation but thats roughly how the difference between the pre and post covid world feels to me.

💯 agree on this one. Whenever the story doesnt go the way they expected, they immediately say it lost the plot or that it had so much potential but wasted the opportunity. I honestly feel like many viewers dont even try to understand what the writer and director are actually trying to convey. They just want the story to unfold exactly the way they imagined it and if it doesnt, they automatically label it as bad writing. Its like they have stopped engaging with the story on its own terms and instead judge everything based on whether it matches their personal expectations. Sometimes it really feels like people have lost the ability to think critically and appreciate a story beyond their own preferred narrative.
