Yep reading the original source can always be done for more understanding and information....but a well written plot wouldn't need to me to read the source to find basic answers apart from the watching the series ...Thanks for your suggestion i will find the time to read the story just for closure
The production value and the actors are great ... But the plot is just so weak....They set up all the characters but the arc of each character was so weak ...
We never really understood why Ians dad hated him to that extent just cause he's a the 2nd child that doesn't make much sense ... Also why didn't the late king want his son to have the throne ..this wasn't explained I don't understand the motivation for the PM to be the villan apart from liking SHJ .... The reason why SHJs fathers hated her was never clearly told it was just left to our interpretation that the father probably hated her cause she's illegitimate and also a girl mostly
These are just the plot holes i could think off the top of my head
The things I liked The chemistry between the leads and even the 2nd couple all 4 of them had good bonding and was fun to watch ... Even the supporting characters that were the servers in the home and palace were great comedic additon This drama wouldn't do well if it weren't for IU and BWS...the plot is really weak imo ...
I'm sorry if i sounded like a hater but i genuinely hoped for this drama to be better
It's a 6.5/10 for me ....maybe a 7/10 just caz of BWS's face card

Ikr ...she was very annoying and extremely rude ...i lost it after a point and started fast forwarding her parts ....but the rest of the show is good ..
I just need to speak about how SEXY ZLH looked while threating the eunuch..... The aura he exuded DAMN ...the power he commanded just soo HOT 🔥 .... Also the scene where Changyu wants to pray to late generals .... When he asked everyone to line up and KNEEL ....That was incredibly HOT .... I am running out of adjectives to describe how much I liked those 2 scenes ....
Ep 32 was really good ...love that changyu and XZ hugged and him saying he can be ONLY FCYs man is hella ROMANTIC!
I fight scene in ep 7 reminded me so much of Mr and Mrs smith....The fight scene was so well done and I loved the way they both fight and they both consider each other equals ....The fight scene was too hot tbh ....
