They hav mixed the sequence of the preview to fool us ....if we see closely she's on the bed and looks tired or smtg like that ...it's maybe after the battle ...where she is resting and MS confronts her

In the OG plot MS is a bad guy ...he was borderline in love with Mu Yao ...Hence he turns into a bad demon and was never good ...Also Mu Yao didnt see the good in demons in the original storyline so she never empathised with them ...hence she had no hesitation to kill MS

I havent read the novel ....But here are my guesses : -resentful lady is MS's mother -Her husband vanished in thin air (Caz he was under a spell while he was with her ) , then her home was destryoed (Qilin Mountain)....So she lost it and became a bad demon....Explain y MS is half demon and half human now .... -I have heard the story ends in the real world where they re unite again - Mostly my guess is MiaoMiao Draws it seeing the preview of 23...It may be MS as well seeing the Preview of ep 24 ...
