There's only two souls in the vessel-mudeok/buyeon from the start nd they are cho yeong nd Jin seol ran. Jang UK fell for cho yeong again without knowing she was naksu/cho yeong nd also the same way naksu/cho yeong fell in love with UK again without knowing who he was.
The reason why the vessel was regaining powers is bcuz seol ran was slowly regaining her priestess powers to confront the upcoming calamity she had known for more than 200 years. It's just as I said the leads are the saving grace. Everything about them is the highlight . This could easily be a 10-12 episodes perfect series if they removed the sister character nd her boring relationships
