As a novel reader I'd say this drama adaptation is 85% fan fiction. I'll try to enjoy it for what it is, but I'm slightly disappointed because I loved the novel & all the characters so much.

For me S1 80 %And S2 nothing close at all.In the webtoon the army never exist.
Season 1 is the webtoon adaptation... 85-90%. S2 is pure fan fiction, a derivative work based on the world of the webtoon. read it from the beginning

The drama is very different from the novel. I wouldn't even call this an adaptation...it's a derivative work imo. I'm enjoying the drama for what it is and have force the adaptation snob in me to view the drama as it's own "original work".

Depends on your mood. I'd suggest Healer (action/romance) Empress Ki (historical - his performance is outstanding) or Suspicious Partner (Romcom/mysteryish)
